All is resolved and you won't have to wait that long. Its coming out this month, but our launches are typically on Tuesdays.

Just wondering for firmware upgrades(if needed), will the projector need to sent back to Optoma?

This does have some smart features(wifi or Alexa) and a USB port to enable user-enabled remote firmware upgrade option.

The IoT and Android portions of the projector are updateable via OTA.

So what would this mean to me if I owned a UHD51A DLP XPR UHD HDR with HDMI, USB, RS-232, EIEIO, ETC?

Thanks Tuan.

For future products(SOC updates), I wonder if adding hardware upgrades such as bluethooth and ethernet(Gigabit), and basic software upgrades to enable access to 4K version of Netflix, Amazon prime and other streaming services along with youtube will attract even more buyers other than home theatre enthusiasts?

I know some of these are extra added cost to manufactures, royalty etc, but does open this niche market to mass audience.

None of this makes any sense to me. Unless your pj feeds back to your sound system having any content originate from the pj seems useless.

Sorry I don't get it.

I assume it means that the bolt on features are user upgradable, but the projector firmware isn't. Agree it's up for Tuan to confirm though :-)
The pattern in terms of firmware, light border, contrast and black levels is the same to me across all these projectors, so call me cynical but....

Again, I must be a miserable git but I'm expecting nothing special. FI is great, but I expect increased input lag. The other features are just not important, but I get that it depends on what your personal requirements are. I don't think this projector will outperform any of the others.

Any news in regards to the UHD51 Version being released in the states not sure if the $200 for Alexia would be worth it considering you could do most of this with a harmony remote and echo already

The Alexa, networking, OS functions will be updateable via Over-the-air software updates. The DLP components will still require using the service port and a special cable / we will have to update.

Hi Tuan.

Could you give some release note / update list between the UHD51 v.C05 firmware and the latest one?

I do not have any release notes since we have not officially launched the UHD51A in the US yet.

So far, I'm impressed. Quite. No pixel gaps. 4K looks mighty sharp from this 47"-er. HDR content switches the projector to HDR mode like I thought the UHD60 was going to. Out of the box settings: reds way oversaturated and unnatural (if it's like the UHD60, that can be adjusted/fixed) but no purple haze artifacts (even with all the color settings jacked so high). If I was a first time projector user/buyer I would be happy. SDR to HDR and source switching still slower than desired. Pure Motion low default seems OK, don't know if it's for me personally. Logitech remote's Optoma UHD60 signals not all matching. Great to finally have 3D back on the big screen again. Can't comment on the light border or the lack there of yet.

Light border beyond my screen's felt border - yes.

Weird scary sounds switching from 3D back to 4K. XPR switching on.

Like all Motion settings I've used on various devices: it's 90 to 95% perfect.
