No home cinema tech is particularly future proof. Though it ticks almost all of the current formats. 4k pixel shifting, HDR10 and HLG.
Dolby Vision probably won't come to projectors and HDR10+ is very limited.
The Epson is bright, does good 3D, good blacks and contrast and throws a great 1080p image too.
DLP 4x pixel shifters are a touch sharper, but colours are iffy, struggling to do Rec.709. HDR is generally hit and miss.
JVCs and Sony natives are 2-3x the cost and up and still the Epson gets compared to them!
I don't know of anything in the price range that gets close or will do for a while.... Native 4k would be nice and laser light, but i don't see either being at the Epsons price for a good few years.
