Arrow Official XGIMI H2 Reviews and Owners Thread (H2 Global / H2 Chinese / H2 Aurora)

hey folks,
i have been using H2 for one week. (i also used H1 and H1s before)

What i like:
- 1350 Lumen Brigtness (really brighter than H1 and H1S)
- Colors (Better colors)
- 4K HDR10 support (i can play all 4K videos now)
- Auto lens cover (No need to worry about touching the lens anymore)
- Smart-Keystone (Adjust your screen with one-click)
- Glass lens

What i don't like:
- HDR videos looks very pale, you need to re-adjust color settings (i took the saturation almost 89)
- Built in player does not support some audio formats (Kodi solves it)
- Bluetooth connection is not accurate

Welcome to the XGIMI family :-)

Fantastic projector and certainly a great upgrade from our beloved H1. Maybe there are some more H2 reviews out there on youtube that you could also add to this thread (I hope GadgetVu does one as he did an amazing review of the H1 last time).

Looking forward to more reviews and the international version release!

I have a few questions:
1. Unlike the H1, does it now finally support HDMI 2.0 AND HDCP 2.2? Meaning that it will accept copy protected 4K content via APK or via HDMI port?
2. HDMI-CEC, yes or no?

What you wanna see in reviews?

1- Yes, H2 supports HDMI 2.0. No idea about HDCP 2.2
2. No

Bummer about CEC!
HDCP 2.2 support is a big deal for a project that takes 4K HDR signals (via apk or HDMI). I would love for upcoming reviews to confirm this.

Other questions I have are:
1. Can we adjust screen size manually? I have a feeling it doesn't allow for it.
2. What's the picture quality like adjusting screen size digitally?
3. Is there an ability to adjust the screen position vertically and/or horizontally? Without having to physically move the projector, that is.

Thanks!

1. Yes you can. you can zoom out to a smaller size. and also has preset options like 16:9, 4:3 etc
2. i have noticed no difference but i will check it carefully next time.
3. Yes it has a smart-keystone function. it scans the area you projected and adjust the secreen (still in Beta phase but sometimes works well)
and also you can adjust manually upto 45 degree horizontal and vertical

1. CEC is kind of pointless. Most smart projectors now allow the use of WIFI devices for added flexibility which is the way to go for the modern theater. ARC on the other hand is useful which all XGIMI projectors have.

2. HDCP 2.2 - Get an HDMI splitter.

You mean;
1- connect to a bluetooh speaker
2-turn-off motion comp.
3. Check that loud enough and in sync

right?

my Z6 has a 1 second delay using my BT speaker no matter motion is on or off

Regarding HDCP 2.2, getting a spliter means it'll be downgraded to HDCP 1.4. HDCP 1.4 would retain 4K but no HDR. HDR is a big selling point for the H2. Therefore it would make sense for the H2 to accept HDCP 2.2 signals (via both APK and HDMI). Plus it would be ideal not having to buy an extra device such as a splitter. Also, for gamers with PS4 and XBOX and HDR games, I am sure they'd appreciate it too.

If someone with an H2 can test it (either via APK or via HDMI through Apple TV 4K or Fire TV or Roku), we can put this to bed.

Thank you!

Zgimi Z6 is announced for preorder on official Facebook page. This maybe a sign for H2 international

i am using Samsung soundbar. Sadly say that it gets disconnected after a couple of second. there was no problem with my H1s about connection but there was delay (audio/video sync problem).

The solution that i found (even i dont like, it works)
1. i connected a bluetooth receiver (TP-Link HA100) to Soundbar via AUX cable
2. then i connected H1 to Bluetooth Receiver via Bluetooth.
3. it works nice, No delay

This is the bluetooth receiver i used (TP-Link HA100)

Next year? that is really bad. Even 3 months is bad, not sure why everyone these days announce new products and take their own sweet time to release. I am in Singapore and getting H2 (probably H1S) Chinese version but no sign of H2 international version.

Yes, they all told me that it will be released Q1 of 2019. Better to get H2 chinese version.

I’m thinking about buying the chinese version of H2 since I don’t want to wait for the international version release. This will be my first projector. Would it be possible to change firmware afterwards? Besides the chinese language menus what could be the main disvantages of getting this version? Do you recommend me hold on and wait for the int version? Thanks.

No, Xgimi blocked installing English firmware on China model.

The free option will be too slow for anything to work.
