Did the firmware get changed to allow 120hz input? Last year Tuan said it would not accept it, or am I misreading/misremembering?

You lose Darbee, but gain HDMI 2.0 with 4K input / downscaling, HDR tonemapping and 1080p 120 Hz support, combined with Enhanced Gaming Mode = 8.4ms response time.

HD27HDR has Sync port, but we were talking about the GT1080HDR and HD39HDR, which do not have sync ports.
