I've checked my local dealers -- no one has the 4050 set up for demo. I did audition the LS10000. The image was decent but dang was it LOUD. It was positioned 6 feet behind me and 9 feet above. I presume the shifting mechanism had something to do with the sound, the fans were plenty loud, too.

At home my projector is three feet behind me and two feet above. The LS10000 is so loud it is a clear 'no go'. Has anyone heard the 4050?

thanks

No surprise. The 4050 is the professional installer version. The 4010 is the retail version that you're more likely to find at local retailers. The two models have identical performance so if you can find a 4010 set up for demo you will know exactly how the 4050 will perform.

Universal Mount, connection distances

Can someone point me to a schematic or provide distances between the connection points on the bottom of the 4010? I want to buy a mount ahead of the projector. Looking at the QualGear PRB-717-WHT mount on Amazon and wonder if it will work. I did not see details in the online manual.

Question Lens3-10 via remote?

Had anyone figured out a way to map lens memory 3-10 to remote buttons? Using multiple sources via an AVR and seems each requires a different screen position. The remote has buttons for lens1 and lens2 but not the others. Using a Harmony Elite remote and would love to have the additional memory buttons. Haven't been able to find discrete ir codes. Anybody else? Thanks

EPSON pro cinema 4050 lens shape not round

Hello all,

I recently bought Epson 4050 and currently has it sitting on a side table top while I am figuring out which wall to install the screen on. We had some friends & families over yesterday, and obviously their little kids came too. I notice after everyone left that the kids had managed to make their way into the theater room. I then found the shutter on the projector to have been forced open and there were finger prints on the lens. I also noticed that the center of the lens is not round, meaning there is a small dip at the center. Its not perfect convex. I am not sure if that is how it is suppose to be or if the kids have pushed it hard to cause a dent in the center. I might sound dumb but I don't know if it is made of plastic or glass and hence the wondering...

Is it possible ?

Thanks!

Unless those kids have super powers and can melt glass and plastic, there is NO Way the kids changed the shape of your lens. They could have caused other damage, but not reshape the lens.

Lightbulb Interested

I am interested because I am still using a 5 yr old Powerlite 8350.
I only use it connected to my HT with a laptop to stream Sports, Movies and Shows.

Am I going in the right direction with this 4050??

Thoughts welcomed!
