Optical Throw Ratio

Zoom Ratio
1.3X
Lens
F/# = 1.9 - 2.47, f = 12 - 15.6 mm

Dimensions (W x H x D)(mm)
380 x 127 x 263
Net Weight (Kg/ lbs )
4.2 kg / 9.2 lbs

I have the HT2050, which has a 1.15 throw, and I’m projecting exactly 120” at my throw distance. If the throw ratio of 1.13 is correct I’ll be able to get 122”. Although, it also appears to be 0.5” (14mm) deeper, so the lens may be slightly more forward.

Either way, looks like slightly more flexibilty.

Gaming input lag

Any word on what the gaming input lag would be for this?

I ultimately held off on the HT2550 and purchased the Benq 2050A because of it's 16ms input lag.

I'm interested in the same. While all the stats so far have me wanting to press B for "buy", gaming in 4K is the main reason I'm looking at new projectors. If this has low input lag, I'm all in.

Good progress with 4K. Very short on lumens still but progress nonetheless.

Still not even considering buying a 4k projector until I can buy massive amounts of used 4K blurays for under $5 and until Redbox will start renting them out. Otherwise there's nothing to watch in 4K yet... Hopefully in 2-3 years the above mentioned criteria will be met and 4k PJ will be under $1000.

Until then... just observing industry developments with great interest.

I'm getting worried about those 4k blurays - so many people are streaming now those might not be a viable enough business for studios to keep making them.

I don't even own a 4K display yet but I've already started buying 4K UHD discs and just using the included Blu-ray until I do. Just trying to do my part.

I don’t think there are enough of us. Adoption is much slower and the studios complained that blu Ray didn’t grow enough to cover their costs.

I don't really care what happens after UHD Blurays die off, I just want to collect all the back catalogue of remastered to HDR films and then keep those indefinitely, in high bitrate.

Codecs keep improving as does internet bandwidth so I'm not too worried about new content looking poor on better displays as time goes on. If anything, capture is getting better and better, so the idea that they wouldn't want to maintain the quality for those who are willing to pay for it seems silly to me. I'd certainly pay more for higher bitrate Netflix, and ideally pre-frame interpolated Netflix so I didn't have to do MEMC on my PC via Netflix rips. As it is right now, I have no choice but to rip all my content to my PC to watch it with smoothing on.

I have never seen a stream that looks as good as a disc.

Hello again !!

The great dilemma! I have a UHD51 that I bought for € 1100 as new at Amazon and I am very happy, but it is true that for those of us who look closely at the halo it is annoying. Now I see that Benq takes out his W2700 in February and all the doubts assault me. Will Benq improve the Optoma image quality in addition to removing the halo? I can return the Optoma until the 26th, so I will not arrive in time to see Greg's analysis ... what do you think?

So on the one hand nothing is worse than buyers remorse but on the other hand you will probably have to spend 50% more at least to get a PJ that’s maybe 10% better overall.

If I already had a 4k PJ up and running I’m not sure I would pull the chute for this.

Just my $0.02

What program are you using for motion smoothing? I do the same. Madvrs frame blending at 60p for most content. And svp + frame blending for anime cgi like Knights of Sidonia, Blame, Godzilla, Ajin, Berserk etc.
