That's too bad, it's looking like they just are not going to make any progress with these XPR units (regarding input lag).

How is the prg-unv? It’s a little more.

I have the following on my HT2050a:

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...projector.html
https://www.peerless-av.com/en-us/pr...ducts/prgs-unv

The mounting plate makes it very easy to get the projector in the region you like and I love the quick detach option for the projector itself. If you spend the time with it, you can really fine tune the projector alignment and placement. Then you have the tilt and roll features. I'm very pleased with this mount - especially for my first time hanging a projector. Its very forgiving even with minor placement mistakes. I can see that if/when I do upgrade to the HT3050, it should be a very easy swap out and fine tuning.

does anyone know. Will the HT3550 work with the
BenQ CM00G3 Universal Ceiling Mount?

Where did people buy them that already have tracking? I know B&H had the listing up for a short time but hasn't been live ever since.

I swear when I ordered on Amazon it specifically listed the preorder price guarantee so that is why I didn't worry about the incorrect price at the time.
If that's true and they do a refund, I wonder if they reimburse the tax on that $400 as well? Probably not. It's making it a more difficult decision for me if I want to cancel or not.

The other reason is I'm not sure if I would be better suited with the bright version of this. I love 3D and brightness is always a plus for 3D. I also only have a 100" 1.1 screen, but my ht3050 after 1000 hours is pretty dim in some 3D movies already. I wonder too if the bright variant will be better for the HDR and DCI-P3, or the likely worse colors will offset the benefit?

Yes. 63ms.

What to do if you find yourself stuck with no hope of rescue:

I think this will be my very first HT Projector. I was intially considering Epson HC4000, hc4010 and other Benq models like TK, and 2550. But HC4010 s price is not coming down at all so if HT3550 is below $1500 then I am gonna go with it.

But have never bought a projector before in my life, I have some questions. Where should I buy it from? Amazon, direct from Benq? Who has better return policy if something is not right? What you guys suggest. So I can jump on this hype train sooner than later.

IMO your local best buy is the best place to purchase. They will take an opened box return no questions asked. Well they will ask and you just say you didn't like it. No problem. Amazon is stricter with returns having you pay return shipping. That's where I'm gonna buy it but best buy doesn't have it up on the website yet. But I am waiting and plan to buy from them. Actually you could order from bestbuy.com and still return at the store.

I bought mine direct from BenQ, first time for everything. Will let you know how it goes but I would assume BenQ will stand behind its product and warranty with no middle person to speak of. Most retailers (or outlets online) have 30-90 days return so once you are past that, all is equal I suppose.

Does Bb have a restocking fee? I mean if I open the box and think it is not right PJ for me and plan to switch it with another one?

I can't wait to receive it and hope to avoid early adopter issues but somehow I feel this forum has my back.

So, I got the Panasonic UB900 already.
Netflix upgrade to 4K UHD upon receipt of projector.
I am going to upgrade my trusty Yamaha RX-V995 to a Costco model TSR-7850 and go buy it this weekend before it goes off sale
As for the screen, hmm, for now a painted DIY wall, will debate on a screen at some point and decide
Wife is dead set on leaving the ceiling alone (will ask for forgiveness once it's painted black at least closer to the screen)
Not sure about the mount, may be a DIY due to low ceiling like I used to have a couple of projectors ago

Wish me luck! It begins.
We got your back!

FWIW - anybody who is considering streaming 4K, VUDU has consistently had the best selection and best performance of 4K, HDR, and ATMOS content. And when you connect your VUDU account to Movies Anywhere, all of your 4K content will be available on Google, Apple, and Amazon as well as the inverse. Highly recommended. The other thing I like about VUDU is when the 4K rentals come out a month before disc, it gives you the option to spend an extra $5 for the 4K blu ray to be shipped automatically to you when it becomes available. So its the best of both worlds. 4K UHD streaming right when it is launched, and the physical reference copy for long term for the same price as the physical+digital copy you would get at Best Buy. I have always been conflicted to purchase 4K UHD online before the physical copy and I'm glad VUDU came out with this option this year.

Is there idea when Amazon will start shipping? It says one to two months on its listing. The BenQ online store says it will ship from them on 3/21. Fry's says it will ship for free starting 3/25 or delivered on 3/25 for an extra $39.99. Unfortunately I live in North Carolina, which charges sales tax on all online orders. That's an extra $105 in taxes. If I buy from Amazon I'll at least get 5% back using my Amazon Rewards card.

When I called BenQ direct, they indicated Amazon would be getting on 21st as well, so those of us on the list should get that week.

since theres no best buy where i live, i called amazon and best buy to verify what their policy is. both said unless its defective or an error on their part i would have to pay for return shipping. the only way to return it without having to pay shipping is like you said, order from bestbuy.com and return at the store.

If I remember correctly you were in the process of making a direct side by side comparison of your W2700 with an HT2050A.
Now that the W2700 has been returned from BenQ is that still in the works or did I miss the post in this every growing thread?

BenQ direct has 30 day return policy for exchange or refund. It said ground shipping for returns so I am assuming it's on the house? Might be worth checking out.

I have couple of BB around me. So they do not charge any restocking, right if returned to store? I wonder when they will have 3550 available?

I first checked out the revised firmware and updated my original review. Done. Then I got sick and laid in bed for three days. Done. Now I’m out of bed and comparing the two. I’ll update here when I’ve posted.

Just a friendly warning, be careful with returns to BestBuy as they use the Retail Equation, a 3rd party to monitor returns and can ban you from making returns.

I was silver member there, had spent almost $4k that year, bought a $149 Sony X700 UHD player during black friday, decided to go a different route and returned the very next day in an un-opened box. It generated a warning about returns when the return was processed. Next time I tried to return something, I had been banned for 1-year and was not allowed to return the item. I had maybe 5-returns total that year too. I now no longer do business at BB.

I have always been conflicted to purchase 4K UHD online before the physical copy and I'm glad VUDU came out with this option this year.
Thanks Scottyroo. Also, appreciate the VUDU tip. My big concern was 4k content and one of the reasons I thought about going the 1080P route for another year or two but I can't wait anymore and want this projector now. I may be relegated to the basement as my oldest is moving back in and will take my LG surely. Time to get another cable box too so I can do a bit of TV.

Has anyone found a place to pre-order that doesn't charge tax (KY)? I need to upgrade a 106" Elite screen.

Edit: looks like no tax from benqdirect

When I bought a projector at my local BB last year they had a 15% re-stocking fee if I returned it. Has that changed?
