If I order from Projector people when you think I can get the PJ? Because they do not list if it will be a week or two before they will ship. It takes me to checkout and does not say if not in stock or delayed shipping.

I ordered last night and got a call this morning saying mine would ship out within a week or 2. For the inconvenience they upgraded me from 3 day to 2 day shipping for free. When I ordered the site said ships within 1 to 2 days.

I emailed the Projector People last night and this morning I was told they have 10 orders in allocation and it could ship anywhere from a few days to mid-April. They aren't 100% sure. If you are a first time customer you get a discount coupon for $50. It may work for everyone though. SAVE2019. I may still wait my Amazon pre-order out.

If it's shipping to a residential address, those are saved until the end after businesses. I think they have by 3pm for residential with priority overnight. Standard overnight is delivered up to the evenings. I could be off so disregard.....let us know when it gets there. I love that you are a PSA fan too.

Ok guys! So I got home from work and immediately got the pj hooked up.
Initial impressions, holy crap!!
I tried out Aquaman 4k and my Japanese import Sony BR2049 and my jaw was on the floor.
This thing is the real deal. I used Scottys settings for hdr and it's just unreal. Night and day between this and my ht2050.
It's late and I have to go to bed but here's a couple pics and two quick YouTube videos.

Here's that BR2049 title screen on my ht2050

@subacabra

What size is your screen? I'm sure you mentioned it at some point but I lack the will to dig back and find it.

It's an Elite 106" Cine white, 1.1 gain pull down as my main display is a 65 Sony 900e. I'm actually floored how good it looks lol
I'm eventually upgrading, just have to decide what to get.

Wow. The comparison with my beloved 2050 really makes it real for me. At my seating distance I don't need *more* pixels, but I can always use *better* pixels. Watching content mastered for (and presented in) a wider color gamut will be a revelation. Just as it's hard for me now to go back to the old SD/NTSC/Rec 601 gamut, I bet it will be hard to watch plain old HDTV after seeing more images like that screen shot. Thank you for sharing that!

Glad to hear it! Does somebody happen to have those settings handy?

Myself and many others would surely appreciate it. I hate to ask this so, does someone at least have an idea where they could be found? This thread or his review thread?

The HDR image looks so good out of box there is hardly any settings to mess with. I just have all the cinema master stuff turned off and HDR brightness +1 for my large screen.

The amazing thing about auto tone mapping is this will look good for almost any scene or film. I won’t be able to appreciate another HDR film on a projector without it.

Haven’t received yet. BenQ is prioritizing releasing to customers first. And I applaud them for that.

Will the HDR tone mapping work on the HDR movies that I have purchased on the Apple TV 4K? Also will it work on the movies and shows that are in HDR on Netflix and Amazon using the Apple TV 4K?

I would assume as long as it receives an hdr signal then it would be applied.
I streamed a little Spider-verse uhd thru vudu and it looked great.

Yall convinced me! I am getting the BenQ W2700 / HT3550!

I am glad the bulbs are not too expensive either. Not the cheapest but not the most expensive.

The only thing I am worried about is it is DLP.

Hmm, kinda odd thing happened.
I have mine ceiling mounted so obviously set to front ceiling.
When I started it up it went back to front, it was upside down..
Had to go back into menu and change back to front ceiling and it seemed to hesitate for a bit then was back to front ceiling.

Played around a little more with the pj tonight.
Watched some Ready Player One 4k scenes and also Alien Covenant 4k.
I found turning off brilliant color improved the picture, creating a more natural overall color and especially the whites.
Having it on made the whites more yellow and seemed to over expose bright highlights.
First pic brilliant color on, second off.

Also take note of improved blacks with it off.
