I think fengmi 4k is far better than rs pro. About the noise issue, there is coil whine which troubles some people.

Thanks for your opinion. Can you compare RS Pro and Fengmi 4K please? Why Fengmi is better than RS Pro?

I am a bit confused.

I guess, the good news about this unit is a new(?) type of LED light engine technology.

If anyone has more info about it, please share it here.

Maybe this is a breakthrough tech and they can eventually mass-market it so we finally get rid of color wheel and bulbs for good..

I've always believed that the major weak points of DLP projectors are the color wheel and the limited life of a bulb.

At some point in time, the LED light engine was looking as the bright future, but lately it hasn't been so clear...

Instead of moving towards a LED-engine solution, Lasers has been steadily gaining ground.

Still, they look far more complex compared to a typical LED engine. Plus they also need a color wheel.

And of course the bulbs are still going as strong as ever, for the majority of units out there.

I want to make sure this is understood— if a DLP has an LED light source without a color wheel then the LEDs are simply taking the place of the colorwheel by being cycled very quickly. You still have the possibility of seeing color separation (rainbow effect).

I’ve seen LED based DLPs that look maybe the same or perhaps even slightly better but most have actually looked WORSE than conventional color wheel models.

But, yes, having a solid state light source is awesome. Unfortunately, LED tends to be dimmer and the ones that aren’t (like the Phillips colorspark) tend to be just as pricey as laser.

What to do if you find yourself stuck with no hope of rescue:
Consider yourself lucky that life has been good to you so far. Alternatively, if life hasn't been good to you so far, which given your present circumstances seems to be more likely, consider yourself lucky that it won't be troubling you much longer...

Harman Kardan licenses its speaker technology to other companies for a fee.

Fengmi is brighter and sharper than rs. Do not look the specs say rs pro is 4900lumens, it is a chinese marketing lie. They measure it on source not on screen. Also fengmi 4k is not 7000lumens.

I measured the brightness of RS Pro and H2 Aurora, the brightness of i1 pro2 is about the same + -2%. H2 aurora is declared by the manufacturer to 1500 lumens ansi, conclude, but H2 aurora and RS Pro are subjectively really bright, the real measured contrast on the 126-inch screen in my room is about 500.

I bought a projector a week ago on aliexpress 1380 $ with delivery.
XGIMI and many Chinese brands have firmware truncated and not modified for the projector android, so you can not fine-tune the colors. All XGIMIs only have a general RGB grayscale setting, but they do not allow you to fine tune the colors. However, the RS Pro is relatively well tuned for the factory, but still not perfect.
I also plan to try the Optoma I5 + (2019) 1700 lumens Chinese version, but with international firmware. Presumably worth 2 generations, the DLP matrix is 0.47 in 2019, now they are selling $ 900 on aliexpress. The projector has many color settings, but there are no settings for 10/20 points of the gray scale, maybe they are in the service (engineering) menu.

Yes I am ok with the colors and brightness. I can use normally even though the light is open. But I don’t know how I can increase the contrast. And its heavy, I am scared to put it on a tripod. I am looking for some solutions to fix the projector.
