Image Improvement ?

Hello, I'm running a Sim2 Mico 50 LED projector on a Elite 2.35 1.1 gain screen. My issue is.... I'm wondering if I need to have Chad calibrate my image or just leave it as is?

I would! You have a $20000 list price projector, whats a couple hundred more to be sure!

I agree, but based on my screen shots of eye calibration will I gain anything more to justify the cost?

Always risky to judge by photos, but from what they show the image looks great. On pictures 5 and 6, is that blue on the dark areas of the image visible to the naked eye?

Wow 20k, but specs look like for something that's worth 1k today. Is it really worth that much?

^ well ALL Electronics are like that when they first appear on the market, this I think was 2009 & it uses a 0.95" 1080p DarkChip4 single-chip DMD with 3 RGB LEDs.
just like what we have now no matter how sophisticated it may be as long as it's electronics it will loose it value through the years - better by a fine chinaware lol

https://www.avsforum.com/forum/218-d...projector.html

BTW those shots look great But just like my LG G7 shots, it makes a soso video pop when it's taken.
How's the black level compared to the .65"/ .47" DMD?

I once noticed about this Sim2 PJ, it has ability to playback DCIP-3 color space, also the advantage is DC4 which is currently using for business PJ. I would not doubt it's black level and contrast. Just wondering how it playback DCI-P3 in 1080P media. Anyone got the idea?

wait.. so what did you pay for this and why are you posting in the <$3000 forum.. guys in the > $3000 would be more inclined to have actually used one of these...
And with such a projector, why would you worry about $350 cost, you are obviously anal enough to question what you are watching..

Once you get it done, it will be done as the LEDs do not drift as FAST as standard lamps.

If you truly second guessing the $350 cost of a professional calibration then don't, sit back and watch a movie and enjoy. The ONLY person who benefits from a calibrated image is you.

Chad won't just come in and calibrate, he will educate you as well, so you get a LOT for you money.
BTW, first thing chad will tell you is that back lighting needs to be shut off if you truly want an "Accurate" image. Looks cool, for a TV but not so helpful for projection.

Geterdone!

It's not JVC level blacks, but very good all the same.

What do you mean by "so so video pop"? Like I've said earlier, can't completely judge from photos, but the content looks quite three-dimensional and constrasty to me.

something like the link below.
the Vmai M200 is a pico pj's with just 250ansi & the videos are not that bright or sharp but when taken by the LG G7 which has a "dark mode" pictures come out looking better than what was actually projected which I also stated below & just like what you've mentioned.

Well, it might indeed be the camera, but the image in the OP's photos looks better than anything on that thread you've linked to.

For it's contrast it is no doublet excellence. However, for a 10 years machine I would suggest to spend some $$ for calibration to it's color accuracy which is considered worthy.

sorry for not listing the snap shot device on the thread, but it's a Pixel 3 cell phone, because I don't have a good camera.
