Yes.

Amazing company with excellent customer service and 30 day full money back guarantee which I've used before when a PJ didn't fit my situation.

They handle returns just as good as Amazon, maybe better. They're a real store in New York.

This is a video review of the Optoma UHD3200A. It appears to be similar in specs to the UHD52ALV:

The review is in German, but you can turn on closed captions and use the autotranslate feature for your language of choice.

Uhd380x

Looks like there is a variation of the uhd52alv in Europe that comes without Alexa. I wish that would come to the states as Alexa is the last thing
I want in a projector, and saving money on a feature I don't want/need is the first! I think it's supposed to be €400.00 less which equates to $446.73!

I was so close to the BenQW2700 but the high noise, low brightness and old school interface put me off...So now the UHD52ALV is leading my top list, it's just £50-100more than the UHD380X (not €400..where did you check that mate?).

Cheers

Wonder if this would be much of an upgrade over the UHD51A I have now? I’d go for the JVC NX5 or Epson 5050UB, but 3D is #1 for me, with 4K second, then rest.

a review of the UHD51ALV stated that the extra lumens helped with 3D content.

@sage11x

Have you gotten this or the non Alexa model? Or know about comparing it to the TK850?

I am curious about the possible extra brightness and getting real lumen output measurements for both, including cinema mode.

I'm all about extra brightness since I love 3D viewing.

Comparing the 51A and 51ALV there is a difference in the Cinema and Game modes, less the other two:

You're comparing an RGBRGB with an RGBW so of course those lumen numbers are going to be different.

I wanted a comparison between two white slice "bright" projectors, to see if this supposed 3,500 lumens actually means anything or translates to being brighter than the likes of TK850 which will probably have better tone mapping for HDR.

As you've probably seen from reviews, the lumens value next to projectors name does not represent the actual value, so no 3500 "real" lumens.
My point was to compare the two Optoma's and the lumens difference by adding a white segment on the color wheel.
You can then go look at the HT3550 measured lumens, which the TK850 will be based upon, and speculate on potential lumens:
https://www.projectorcentral.com/Ben...,-Measurements

If you want to know what other non RGBRGB color wheel projector measurements are, here are some of them:
https://www.projectorcentral.com/Ben...iew-update.htm
https://www.projectorcentral.com/Opt...D60-review.htm
And this one comparing the two different wheel types:
https://www.projectorcentral.com/Vie...-4K-review.htm

Until the TK850 comes out and is reviewed you can only estimate.

The light engine of the TK850 is probably very similar to the TK800M:

My point is that comparing an RGB to RGBW is not going to give us any real comparison. And the 51ALV is "3000" Lumens and the 52ALV is "3,500" lumens, so is that just marketing bull**** or is the 52 actually brighter?

And no, the 850 is not based on the 3550 but actually on the TK800M, it is going to be brighter than the 3550 because it has a clear slice color wheel.

Obviously rated lumens are never what is marketed, but some projectors are still brighter than others in various calibration modes.

Probably, but I am trying to get an idea of the TK800M/TK850 vs the ALV52 on actual brightness comparison. Optoma likes to bloat their marketing and I am wondering where that extra 500 lumens comes from.

The UHD51ALV is stated to output 3000 lumens and ProjectorCentral measured 2824, so this seems reasonable to me, and in line with most other similar projectors such as the PX747-4k which is rated at 3500 lumens and Projectorcentral measured 3100.

The UHD52ALV has the newer .47 DMD chip and might have a superior optical system as well, which could boost light output, but regardless, if they tune the UHD52ALV colour wheel and light engine to match the PX747 they should achieve a boost in max lumens and at least equal the PX747, which output ~275 more lumens than the UHD51ALV (as per Projector central).

Should be minimized like the BenQ ht3550 and tk800m.
