Even on Benq high end models I have yet to see any P3 coverage claims by the manufacturer. I assume this is an intentional omission.

I would guess that it will be at least as good as the TK800M:

Yeah it shouldn’t be significant. If you want wide color gamut then BenQ has the HT3550 and HT5550 for you. Both are more theater focused models and both have significant coverage of DCI P3 (although neither quite hits 100%). The HT5550 is better here thanks to a more refined color wheel which relies less on it’s color filter. While the Ht3550 has P3 coverage it takes a significant hit to lumens when the color filter is engaged. In a light controlled room with a smallish screen (100”) this won’t be an issue but you won’t be using the color filter in a living room setting.

Any word on how game mode will effect input lag? Will this model be better for gaming than 3550?

Looks exactly like a HT3550, assuming just a high lumen version of that with RGBW color wheel?

https://www.benq.com/en/projector/ho...ent/tk850.html

This is now loading with information...

Hard to believe the TK850 is not also expected to be a pixel shifter for 4k pixel creation - especially if it's priced in the same category of the TK800m...

-"True 4k", Producing 3840x2160 resolution with 8.3 million distinct pixels
-HDR-PRO™ technology
-Precision 10-element 8-group lens array
-98% Rec.709
-3000 lumens
-Offers 10% vertical lens shift
-Hassle free integrated zoom adjustment

Two things are certain in life, death and expensive high-end projectors.

The Tk850 is a pixel shifter— uses the same DMD and optical actuator as the HT3550. For clarification: there are no ‘native’ 4K DLPs for the consumer market at this time.

There are feature/performance differences besides the lumen output.

Review samples are in bound but there are a limited number of samples available— my guess is I’m fairly low on the priority list so we’ll have to see. I hope to have one to do a review for you guys/gals but I probably won’t know until next week. I’ll update when I have more...

I’m expecting it to be priced the same as Ht3550. But keep in mind the tariffs are going to have an effect here. Projectors will be going up in price.

Yes, this is not an ‘upgrade’ to the HT3550. It’s a model that is designed to sell alongside the HT3550 and offer an alternative for people who have less than ideal rooms or just need more lumen output. It will lack some of the Ht3550’s functionality while offering greater output.

Yeah, I was just hoping they'd do SOMETHING new or innovative. I was hoping for either 3d FI or the light-cutting/wcg filter on board. Either of those would really sell me on it. As it is I'll wait until reviews to see if I'd want this (just for brighter 3d) over the ht3550. My other contenders are ls700-4k if it's ever released or the uhd51-alv/uhd52-alv.

We’ll have to wait and see. The HT3550 and TK850 promise to relate to one another much as the Ht2550 and TK800/TK800M did. While those projectors were very similar in spec they produced very different pictures.

Some indication that the release date on the Tk850 may be pushed back. I’ll post an update as soon as I have more details.

Seems like most reviewers of the ht3550 turn off the wcg so given the tk850 doesn't have it, wouldn't this be better with the now included dynamic iris for better black and more lumens? What would be the advantage of the ht3550 over the tk850?

The tk850 has the white in the color wheel, so it won't match the color depth and blacks of the ht3550 even without using wcg.
