Has anyone changed the color of the Sony 45ES projector from black to white?

Thinking of hanging my Sony 45ES projector in our family room. If i hang as is, it will look like a black blob. We all know we need to keep the wife happy. Is it possible to remove cover and paint it?

Painting or removing the cover voids your warranty. Solution that will improve your picture quality : Paint the ceiling black. She said she wanted the projector to match the ceiling. Now it will and you still get to keep your projector black and under warranty. A win for everybody.

Be a man tell your wife how it's going to be. I bet she controls the whole house . Tell her this is YOUR deal.

I wouldn't try to paint it. Not trying to be an a$$ but you knew it was black when you bought it right?

I say, have it any way you want it. What color do you want it? Perhaps, find someone who will give it a vinyl wrap like a car, or do it your self. That way, it can be peeled off when desired and returned to original if and when you sell it. Could be a cool project.

+1 on the vinyl wrap idea. Not that hard to apply or remove. Just requires a little fine trimming to maintain the cooling vents. Doesn't really need to cover every square inch to greatly reduce the big "black blob" on the ceiling.
