Need help!!!!

I am a first time projector owner. I need some helps on 2 questions. I have an Optoma UHD60, projector screen is 84”w x 45”h making it a 91.8” diagonal (screen is older and not in best shape, leftover from previous owner will be getting new one soon), actual throw distance is 11’6” and calculator for screen with16:9 ratio says 11’5”. That’s the info on what I have.

1. The image doesn’t seem super clear. I have focused, messed with settings, cleaned lens, etc. it’s extremely noticeably when I bring up the Optoma Menu on projector, the words on the menu screen are fuzzy. WhaT is causing this and how do I fix it?

2. I didn’t know until after the fact on this. I cleaned the lens while on for awhile today. I noticed before cleaning lens that the source pop up on bottom right of screen was cleaner than it’s ever been. Like stated before the picture hasn’t been what I expected, but after cleaning it got worse. I sprayed some solution on a microfiber towel that’s made specifically for lens cleaning and cleaned the lens while on. After that the picture quality went way down. I noticed a small smudge on lens, re cleaned this time without solution just brushes and nothing changed. I tuned projector off for about 30 mins and it never cleared up. It looks like a little smudge while on but when off I can’t see it. It doesn’t look like a dark spot burnt lens from what Google shows. Will it go away? Have I ruined it? So there a way to repair it?

Thanks, need all the help I can get.

How long have you had the projector? Can you return it?

Got it from eBay, wife talked me into using site for first time. Possibly I can return it. I just figured it was something I was doing wrong.

Do not try to clean the lens. They have a special coating that can be damaged by cleaning.

You should be able to use the zoom and focus rings to get a sharp image. Are you saying that you can't get a sharp image no matter what?

If it was like that from the beginning, that's the fault of the projector.

Make sure the projector is level to the ground and perpendicular to the screen.

Use a white sheet of paper in front of the screen.

Did you refocus after you cleaned it, you may have moved it?? Focus issues are very common, this is how they were able t reduce cost over the years .. cheap plastic optics .. Not sure you have any recourse as I would bet the focus issue was why it was on ebay.. Again, this is not uncommon even with brand new units of the entry and mid price level..
