Xiaomi Laser Projector 150" UST

A (relatively) low cost UST Laser projector:

https://www.hifitest.de/test/beamer/...ector150_19369 (use google translate for language of choice)

The above states that it uses a .47in XPR chip for 4K, but I don't think that's correct and it's actually a 1080p DLP chip but the projector will accept 4K HDR input and down samples it to 1080p HDR.

Uh, why am I having de ja vu to two years ago? Possibly three years hence? Is this not the good ole Xiaomi Mi UST laser with a miriad of issues that still haven't been addressed in revised editions since then? Is there not a dedicated thread for this unit with a billion posts in it already?

I don't know if prior issues have been addressed, or when it first came to market, but it's only been fairly recently that it was available in North America with an English menu. Here's a couple of video reviews:

and:

and while neither reviewer claims a flawless performance, they were both generally positive.

BTW, there is a true 4K Xiaomi UST as well.

LOL, well it was never an issue with the Asian menu. It was the issue that you had to install a progam to get the menue into some semblance of English. That issue was solved shortly after with other models. There's been several revisions and none of the issues of the first line have been solved. Coil whine, messed up 3D, clipping HDR highlights, horrible contrast, horrible input lag of over 100ms, judder on 50 and 24hts, over processing of video unless it's 4k and the inability to turn it off, etc etc. You would figure after 3 years these issues would be addressed. No such luck. Don't let the brand name throw you off, it's still the same projector inside from Appotronic. They all are. That's why they all have the same issues.
