Epson 6040ub for $1600 (Manu. refurbished)

Is this a good deal? Just bought it with free FedEx 2 day shipping. It's a manufacturer refurbished unit with a 3 year warranty backed from Epson. Only thing is, no extra bulb or mount.

There is a sub forum for deals, and a thread for the 5040/6040 refurbs:

Unless you absolutely need a black projector and/or the support of an "A" lens the extra $ for the 6040 over the 5040 refurbed is not worth it.

Well, the 5040ub shows out of stock on Epsons website, they're going for $1150 on their site. Found other places, and even eBay, that are selling the 5040ub refurbed but price isn't much different, between $1250-1500.

If you read the post in the deals section you will find they go in and out of stock often, you just need to be patient and check often. It's your money so do as you wish but I would only buy direct from Epson to insure a warranty.

I already have the 6040ub on order, it also carries a 3 year warranty through Epson.
