Ok, I have about 2000 hours now, on normal mode. All appears fine, no flicker, plenty bright.

However, when a red image appears, I see some dark permenant spots in the upper left quadrant of the screen. Big enough to notice but if the image is not all red, it's not noticeable.

However, I am concerned as it does appear to be getting more noticeable.

What is this? Is it a polarizer or LCD panel going bad?

Here are some pictures to show what is happening:

I have this exact same issues. I've got 2900 hours on my bulb.

Have you found a solution for this yet?

Update for latest:
The dust blobs have come back on the red panel.

I took the projector apart (see my earlier posts on this write up ) and cleaned everything I could. This time though, I pulled out the polarizers (Panel with "1" in the pictures from that earlier post.
I also took out the yellow highlighted part (see my previous posts for this yellow highlighted part) and that was very dusty, especially the red side.

I also used camera APC-S cleaner and swabs for cleaning the polarizerr panels and swabbed the surfaces of that yellow highlighted part mentioned above.

I am on the last legs of my 2nd bulb.

This will buy me time as the picture is also starting to exhibit a yellowish circle spot dead center and is visible (kind of barely visible but I see it and of course that bothers me) on certain color schemes.

I really really really like this projector. Does any know of a step up upgrade (Non 3D, I could care less for 4K, but it has to be 1080P) brand/model that is comparable to the features on this, but just updated and better???

I see this from New Egg...is this an OEM version?

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...050-000E-001K1

or am I safer with this instead?
https://www.amazon.com/PANASONIC-Rep.../dp/B00CM3Q4XU

or even this.

Which is OEM and legit!

@kezug , I'm pretty sure that genuine Panasonic ET-LAX100 replacement lamps are no longer available and that only compatible replacement lamps are available from various sources. As always, the cheaper ones are more questionable. Some of the projector lamp replacement vendors with better reputations seem to be charging in the $150-$200 price range for what I would consider to be something close to the original genuine Panasonic version. Unfortunately once you get past genuine replacement lamps it becomes somewhat of a crap shoot.

Ok fellow, few, PT-AX200 owners. I have a yellow circle in the dead center of the projected image. This is showing even after I cleaned the unit (see my post above).

What is causing this yellow hazy circle? I dont think it is a dust blob, it almost appears to be a burn in image.

I am on the fence to buy a bulb to see if that is what is causing the issue.

Any ideas what it could be?

Dumb question but is there any fix for this or must the polarizer be replaced? If so, how would I get a replacement polarizer other than buying a used projector solely for parts?

I looked into it a few years back and from what I read, unless you have some skill...

I too would like to upgrade to a newer projector and would prefer a 720P/1080P model as I pretty much only watch DVD quality material and I find that upscaling to 4K is usually pretty poor from DVD quality MP4 material.

Thanks.
