Are you using Firefox downloaded from Mozilla or do you have it installed through Ubuntu's software repository? What version of Ubuntu are you using?

Give this a try:

https://linuxconfig.org/how-to-updat...c-beaver-linux

Scroll down to the part about using the graphical user interface. It sounds like you have Firefox already installed so you need to do an update of the installed software to get the latest versions.

As referenced above a...

sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade

Should get you the current release. If you see an error message during the process typically a google search will head you in the right direction. You can check Firefox's version via Help - About Firefox which will also offer the ability to upgrade right there (if need be).
