Download the Manual here. Not the latest version, but the basics remain the same.

Then call your dealer and have him send you a hardcopy.

Ha...fantastic! My demo disks had a note attached that said...”To our most favorite new owner!” Not sure if that’s why?

If I remember correctly; the HDMI board supports ARC - but Trinnov is not using it. I have registered a feature request for this a long time ago.

I was very fortunate, a couple of years ago while they were developing the white paper Peter and Walter took my HT plans to Arnaud and they reviewed them. Arnaud suggested several changes in the surround and height locations and angles which we incorporated. I was very pleased with the results when we finally fired it up this spring. I've seen a couple of preliminary iterations of the white paper but not the 80 pages they mention in the article.

Attached picture with simplified approach might be also handy as starting point. Picture has combined three immersive formats speaker locations info shared in Trinnov webinar last week.

Minidsp as an example has been mentioned to manage multiple subs in digital domain from one channel output from Trinnov. Here is a more pricey alternative to do 4 subs management with totally fully automated procedure. However, I recommend doing first the "subwoofer crawling" (search youtube for more...) approach in the room for finding 4 optimum room positions by listening or by measurement before 0.4 set-up done with either minidsp or antimode X4 or with something else. X4 info here: http://www.dspeaker.com/en/products/anti-mode-x4.shtml.

X4 article from Stereophile: https://www.stereophile.com/content/...r-anti-mode-x4

I have the 80-page doc (on paper): very interesting and shows many examples of possible speaker set-ups. Didn't got personal advice from Arnaud, though;-)

I am in the same boat as you. My unit arrived yesterday. I managed to install in it in a rack, connected all of the cabling, established communication with my Mac (very easy!) and set-up the inputs (only changed the names so they make sense to me).

I guess the next step is to select a speaker set-up and add/remove extra speakers if needed, and than start with bass management and level and delay/distance settings...

Feel excited!

Optimizer will do a FAR, far better job at setting those parameters than you can. In fact, the delay settings on the Trinnov are ABSOLUTELY perfect and easily measurable. Better than any other high end processor I know of.

If, after you run Optimizer, you want to diddle with, for example, the levels of your surround or height speakers, then you can do that in the Processor--->Output section. And if you have multiple subs placed around your room, you may need to adjust the LFE channel delays - also done in Processor---> Output section

BEGINNING OF SERMON:

As I have recommended to everyone who buys this product, I HIGHLY recommend you use one of the more than qualified calibrators if you expect to extract the most out of your new "toy", or someone from the place where you purchased the product (assuming they have a qualified calibrator). This statement is not a reflection on how much you know or don't know about room acoustics or audio calibration. It is a statement of the complexity and multiplicity of options that the Trinnov presents and learning your way around the menu system.

I consider myself more than qualified in both areas but chose to have my initial calibration performed by a qualified someone (Adam Pelz in my case). I could then use what he did as a starting point for doing my own work - which is exactly what I have done. One of the better decisions I have made in this hobby.

Of course, YMMV!!

END OF SERMON

Thanks for your comment. I totally agree that this product needs to be calibrated by a pro to get the best of it.

Halo,

I just finish doing initial setup for the trinnov and it runs via L+R+Sub now. Straight out of the box with 0 setting, it is more detailed and extended than my modified Marantz 8802A It sounds good !!

I have not try the optimizer/remapping.

Does anyone know if this is the latest mic + cable? Why is it have 4 connector?

How do I connect the cable to the Trinnov? Which number?

Thanks

The latest generation of mic uses 1 single cable. 4 connectors is the old one.

It matters not. Both mic connection methods work with the A32 and accomplish the same thing.

e.g. I'm still using the four XLR mic I purchased 8 years ago for my ST2 PRO.

Will the new mic offer identical performance to the old one?

Thanks

Can someone confirm?

Your dealer is mistaken. That is the old cable, whilst you can still use it with the A32. I would insist that he swap it for the single cable at no cost.

The Mic is identical regardless.
