If you are into OpenHAB, I created some rules to send and receive events to the K. They are posted over on the owner forum: http://www.kscapeowners.com/forums/s...ead.php?t=3172

I have OpenHAB setup to react to the INTERMISSION and CREDITS_ROLLING events from the K and control the lights accordingly. I also send metadata to my Nuvo WHA controller to display "Now showing" information on the control panels.

I love my Apple tv 4k but it doesn't compare to my Strato! So unless they will be releasing the same type product its irrelevant on the Kscape thread!

All streaming is not created equal. iTunes is far far superior to HBO Go.

Yup. The Battle of Winterfell was the ultimate proof of what many of us have been saying all these years. Streaming's FAR too variable to rely upon and even when it's at its best, it's still not quite there. This week's episode of GoT was great proof that we need ALL the HDR metadata we can possibly get when it comes to stuff like this, not to mention the Atmos treatment. Haha. Unfortunately for us, though, HBO's still not on K, so if you want your voice to be heard, drop a comment in this thread if you would. The higher ups at K follow the Kscapeowners forums and do listen to us, so I'm hoping they'll bring us GoT some day. I am SO in for the complete series if they ever bring it to the K store: http://www.kscapeowners.com/forums/s...ead.php?t=3438

I can't help but think that if/when the streaming services allow 4K file downloading that would represent real competition for Kscape. "Our bitrate's higher than your bitrate" will work for a relatively small population that can actually see (and appreciate) the differences.

I don’t think folks realize that even if K had HBO content, you wouldn’t be watching GoT’s final season on the Strato until end of this year at the earliest, maybe next spring.

Although, they may push the discs and purchased digital release out sooner given this is the final season. But usually HBO takes their time.

Quality aside, I couldn’t wait that long to see it given how socially topical it is right now. That said, I am likely waiting for the home release of End Game.

No, we get that. I'm just talking about when it's time for the re-re-watch, I want it in the best way possible, ie official home release with all the goodies typically associated with their excellent Blu-ray releases. I know it won't be for a while.

Again, as Sunday night has proven, it still doesn't matter. When you have nearly 20 million viewers trying to watch at once, something's gonna give. Apparently it got compressed to smithereens as evidenced by so many reporting much better streaming results by later viewings.

Doesn't matter if you have gigabit fiber at your home with a typically good quality streaming service, these things happen. Or let's say you're not even into the "big television premier of the century" event and are hopping online to watch something entirely different. Seems to me that those pipes would still be clogged up due to everyone else hogging it for their show.

The GoT season 8 premier brought everyone's servers to their knees as I couldn't even watch it out for a few hours. Kept trying until it finally magically began working, and even then got some buffering and got tossed off entirely a time or two. Didn't have these issues on Episode 3, so I'm sure they were better prepared this time, but it also maybe helped that I didn't bother until like midnight. Haha.

Just got KScape a few days ago. I have a Lumagen Radiance Pro and Sony VPL-VW5000ES with 14' wide 2.40 screen. With my Oppo 205, I have the Radiance Pro set to output the same video input, i.e., input 4k 24p, output 4k 24p. I've tried outputting with Oppo as source from Radiance Pro 4k 60p but as some would say I find it too unfilmlike, too "cartoonish". Yet I am finding that KScape outputs 4k 60p even though the 4k blu rays are almost all 4k 24p, and for 4k 60p the Radiance Pro is set to output 4k 60p, and so far seems to look fine to me.

When KScape downloads the movie to us, is it downloaded/stored on the server/player in 60p? Or does the player use proprietary KScape algorithms to upscale from 24p to 60p?

Has anyone else with a Radiance Pro and KScape and a separate 4k player compared. on 4k 24p disc movies, 24p vs 60p and how they preferred the resulting video image?

https://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/show....php?t=1158431 No dealer is authorized to tell you I refer to them - any referrals I make will be done personally by me. Over the years I have found certain dealer(s) who I cannot recommend for good reason.

My Radiance Pro "info" shows incoming video on 4k 24p movies with KScape is 4k 60p! This surprised me. Which is why I have posted this inquiry. I will have to triple check this.
