Hey Lon

I think for 20th Century and NBCU, it’s a few years and counting...

For other studios I’ve not noticed a discrepancy if you’re saying the disc has 3D and the K version is not - what titles were you referring to?

Thanks

UPDATED 4/29/17 Thrang's Home Theater (for now...)
Sony VPL-VW5000es • Panamorph Paladin DCR • Trinnov Altitude 32/24 • Crown DCIn amplifiers • JBL M2 (LCR-LW-RW) • JBL S2S-EX subwoofers x2 • JBL SCL-4 (side/rear surrounds) • JBL SCS12 (x4) SCS8 (x2) TH/RH/TM • Lumagen Radiance Pro • Panasonic UB820 • Apple TV 4k • Synology RAID (45 TB total storage) • RTI control system

Hard to say and K play their cards very close to their chest. If I can remember it took about 3 months for Braveheart to upgrade.

Do you have any particular title in mind?

Goodbye to a great audio and video genius and writer... JOHN GANNON. I enjoyed your friendship, wit and a nice long run we took around Indianapolis at CEDIA years back... and for buying my Runco 980 Ultra years back... you saved my ass! Rest in peace.

Oh OK, I saw several 4K HDR downloads that I was interested in purchasing without the 3D Audio Codecs, I guess I assumed incorrectly that some of these titles could be upgraded shortly down the road as a practice by Kscape. I thought I read that but I guess not.

Good Boys
The Kitchen
Hobbs and Shaw
The Shining
Stuber
Yesterday

Those were some of the new releases that caught my eye.

They definitely could eventually, it’s just Nobody really knows when, whenever they start to get 3D audio from Fox and Universal I would assume they would upgrade them.

Neither Good Boys (only available in BluRay on disc) or The Shining have immersive audio mixes on disc, so unlikely K will upgrade unless the studios upgrade the mix, which certainly in the Shining's case seems unlikely.

The others - like Matt says could eventually appear. Just don't hold your breath on Universal and Fox titles upgrading anytime soon.

One privilege I see owning the K system with fast speeds internet today is that I don't rat pack movies anymore (over 3000 blu rays in my collection) - could be my age also
I just download the movies from the store as I need or when we are ready to watch....
If I like a movie I just put it in my wish list and when I am ready to watch - just download it in 20 minutes.

MGM’s offerings disappointed me. For those who already own a film on 1080P BD, the price to upgrade to 4K is rapacious, usually thirty bucks plus. Equally bad, most lack Atmos soundtracks. Sorry but no sale.

Do the disc versions of those movies have Atmos? I only looked at Tomb Raider which did have Atmos same as the 4K disc. SJ

I agree

Got the 4K version of Rocky(had dvd version), and the HD of West side story. (wife made me order), but that's it.

If all the Bond movies come out priced the same way , it will be a long time before I anti up.

Din't they learn anything from Disney's BS pricing?

For Rocky, is the upgrade/purchase price the same with or without having the DVD?
