Curious. Based upon the side elevations, it appears you are going to have one row of seating?

We have room to have another row but it would be for "cosmetic" reasons more than functional ones. 99.99% of the use of the room is for me listening to music and/or my wife and I watching a movie. On the rare occasion we have someone over, the additional two seats are adequate. We don't know enough people who can keep their mouth shut while watching a movie so the additional seats would to waste. The only time I wish I had more seats is during college football season when it would be fun to have a bunch of guys over to watch games.

One row of crucial audio seating with a bar area with non-crucial audio seating in the rear, bar area is mostly for sporting events

Usually only 1 optimal seat taken, sometimes 3, Superbowl and Final 4 will need all the seating. It's all about lifestyle, I envision sitting at the bar area to watch US Open and Masters with a few friends drinks and dinner.

Makes sense , I'm looking forward to being one at some point. I'm not a golfer but maybe I could entice you to watch a college football game. Anyway, all the best on the project I know how exciting it must be. Looks like a hell of a team you have. The right people make all the difference.

Thanks Art you would be first, but you would need to get used to watching 5 games at the same time on Saturdays when the LED panels open up on the sides of the screen. This is one of the things I insisted must stay in the room expansion and renovation.

Is not the JBL Processor basically a Trinnov? Given you are selling yours, what does the JBL processor do that the Trinnov does not? (or vise versa?)

Wow! Quite a fire sale!

Goodbye to a great audio and video genius and writer... JOHN GANNON. I enjoyed your friendship, wit and a nice long run we took around Indianapolis at CEDIA years back... and for buying my Runco 980 Ultra years back... you saved my ass! Rest in peace.

The definition of a "fire sale" is: "a sale of goods or assets at a very low price"

Therefore, it is only a "fire sale" if the pricing is a "wow". If, for example, he is trying to get anything close to MSRP for an older Trinnov, then that is not a "fire sale".

On the other hand, lots of great equipment for sale!!

The JBL SDP75 contains the tuning files for all the Synthesis speakers that will be installed, this reduces the D/A to A/D to D/A if the tuning files are contained in the synthesis amps. In addition, with the tuning files located in the SDP75 I am free to mate any Amplifier I choose.

The Trinnov Altitude contains re-mapping software that the SDP75 does not have. This is not needed for my new setup.

$20,500 for a $28,000 processor not
close to MSRP. Yes a fire sale would be less.

I don't know what amps you'll use but in looking through the JBL catalog, they make JBL branded Synthesis amps (without the Synthesis name, face plate, etc) that are identical in every way I can see to their more expensive Synthesis brothers. I may use these instead of the bonafide Synthesis amps as I have so many Synthesis speakers. Like you, I will use the JBL SDP-75.

I have narrowed it down to either ATI Signature or Theta Dreadnaught D for all the ear level speakers and probably a ATI NC for cieling speakers.

I'm open on amplification at this time. I'll look at those. I'm using SCL4s for bed channels and SCL3s above.

ATI Signature for mains - M2s?

FWIW, I just replaced my amps for 2 ATI NC amps (7 and 8 channel) and love them. More than enough power for very efficient speakers ( mine and your soon-to-be), sound great, are efficient & power friendly.

I know of someone who is selling a (used) Datasat Amp that is every bit the ATI signature (built by ATI) but given it is used, would cost less.

Update, finalized M2 front top amps, thanks to Chris and Curt. Neither Theta or ATI for this task. M2 LFE to be decided shortly along with bed and ceiling amps. Thanks to Nyal for fitting the acoustical treatments under Rayva/Theo panel design. And a special than you to Eric Chuderwicz Rayva Project engineer. We are getting very close now to putting a bow on the entire design/acoustic phase.

Speakers finalized and ordered

3 M2's
8 SCL's
8 708 i's

Stay tuned
