Just kidding looks wonderful , as cool as that looks I'm not sure I wouldn't just call it a day and fire it up.

I fired it up Tuesday, only 2 channels and no Subs, ended up listening to 2 channel music for 7 hours. We ran tests also on Tuesday and the coverage across the 5 chairs was phenomenal, in fact we measured out to 24" from the edge of each side of the riser and near perfect response. We also measured at the Bar seats also out to 24 inches and also exceptional coverage there. So the room can be designed and should be designed with a sweet spot, MLP money seat(Selfish bastard seat). My take away is that the two most important elements of any build is speaker locations and speaker angles.

They are inverted to raise the acoustical center of the speakers to match the ear level.

Is it not to LOWER the acoustical centre of the speakers to match ear level? If the speaker was right side up the tweeter is very near the top of the cabinet with the woofer directly below it so the acoustic centre is between these drivers. The inverted position puts the acoustical centre LOWER.

Correct to Lower the acoustical center, I misstated.

The anticipation is killing me!!

(For Lon and myself).

Awesome!

Goodbye to a great audio and video genius and writer... JOHN GANNON. I enjoyed your friendship, wit and a nice long run we took around Indianapolis at CEDIA years back... and for buying my Runco 980 Ultra years back... you saved my ass! Rest in peace.

Hang in there my friend you know as well as I do that contractors would all be out of business if the result didn't overwhelm the pain of the over runs in both time and money which are the rule unfortunately. It will be worth it.

Well it looks like it's going to be big fun. Always great to see the evolution of these things and there are those like you who are pushing that forward.

Final adjustments to front wall speakers per Curt and some testing. We filled all airgaps with Ultraliner sound blankets.

When you provide updates, can you please share your thoughts on the ML amps vs Thetas on the M2s?

I haven't done final tuning with Curt on site, I have been bogged down with cosmetic issues so final audio tuning has been set back.

I love to see diffusers. After, I started using them, I am just not happy with the sound without them. Your room in an extremely impressive looking design.

Unfortunately our nice looking custom made diffusers are being hidden behind nice looking fabric panels! You won’t see any of the acoustic treatment once the fabric goes up...

Sorry for not updating this thread for a while, I have a lot to add to it and just have not been able to put pen to paper.

The Raw Audio/Video is off the charts fantastic, I could not imagine any improvement at all. Curt's work with speaker locations and angles are paramount to the audio success. Nyals treatments are also primary to the overall sound quality of the room, one without the other would not have worked as well.

Specifically to your question "tuning" the ML amps will stay in place to serve the 3 M2's.

I am still fine tuning the room with Curt, we are now working on sub-optimization. The raw energy of the room is scary good, and sometimes I am afraid the roof will come down (6 Seaton subs).

I have unfortunately had my issues with the Rayva experience, it was less than 0 on scale of 1-10. I will share this at another time. Pictures to follow over the weekend.

Impressive room and equipment list!

I think the acoustic design is interesting! What I usually see is, that ipsilateral reflections from L/R speakers are not absorbed as much as the contralateral reflections, but it seems that it is the other way around when I look at the panels being specified here? This is just by briefly looking at the illustrations in post 1, so I might be wrong

Did you get any more information about why the panels in the front of the rooms had the specified absorbtive percentage?

Home Theater: JBL M2 & SUB18 powered by Crown and BSS.
