Is your audio system setup as digital or analog?

Just wondering.

Edit: If someone wants to correct the "analag" to "analog" in the poll, please do.

@markrubin

Thanks for the correction.

Just noticed that on the last option in the poll, I wrote "buy" instead of "but". If you could correct this one too that would be great. Small errors like these really bug the crap out of me.

Digital here too with one caveat . Altitude 32 (8/16) via DB25 into Meridian 271 Digital Controller and on to Meridian dsp speakers . Trinnov changed original unit which was plagued by really loud pops when either changing source or clock rate . Unfortunately the newer unit has now got very occasional pops usually when 1 or other unit is in 'Mute' .

Sound is majestic tho ;O)

I do not use any analog sources, such as turntable or tape decks, in my audiophile home theater system (currently theater under reconstruction). All digital sources (see signature below) into SSP.

I do use analog DB-25 and AES/EBU cables from my Trinnov Altitude 32 SSP to my various amplifiers (Theta monoblocks, Trinnov & ATI multi-channel amplifiers).

Pray for all of our healthcare providers, food manufacturing and delivery workers, all of whom are doing their best at great risk to help us survive the current Covid-19 virus crisis.

Analogue and I am very happy it is!!!

Most stuff today is set for digital and I would not like that at all!!!!!! (It doesnt play analog as well)

All the stuff I listen to is analog -- ANALOG IS BEAUTIFUL

When you stop watching what they want you to watch you stop thinking what they want you to think.. Then you see a world that is nothing like they tell you it is.

Ultra clean digital with near top class transient rendering.

Windows PC USB > Uptone ISO Regen and Amanero USB powered by Uptone Ultracap LPS1.2 > Audio-GD NFB 7 > Audio-GD NFB1-AMP via current interconnects(i.e. krell cast) > NFB7 & 1-Amp on a Topaz Line Noise Suppressor. Audeze EL-8 and MrSpeakers Alpha Prime headphones.

Currently using Out of Your Head(Realiser A8 to take measurements) for loudspeaker emulation of various sound systems. Frequently use JM Lab Nova Utopia Be and Marten Coltrane Supereme 2s and have access to 10 other rooms.

I think the only way to improve the system aside from personalized measurements is something like a Raal SR1A for the absolute in transient response. The circuits render the personal room impulse response binaural rendering so perfectly it's been consistently astonishing for years now. Digital sounds analog, i.e. real, much like a top class DLP projector renders video that looks like pristine celluloid ;]

100% digital (and I would never go back to analog).

Built around a main system consisting of Meridian equipment and speakers... Add an Oppo 203 and a Panasonic UB9000.

OT: Aesthetix in your signature = VERY NICE. Always itching to try but I have too many things (Conrad Johnson tube stuffs etc) laying around unused already :-).

You might already know, Aesthetix's owner/designer is Jim White, who AFAIK honed his skills at Theta Digital in the 90's. Very interesting, or is it telling , that he's now a analog/tube guy.

I had to scratch the itch and have had no regrets, and I didn't know that about Jim, thanks. I am surprised; however, that you commented on Aesthetix; no-one ever has; I just figured either, nobody ever looked at my signature, or nobody knew who they were. I've have not met Jim in person, but I'm sure his knowledge would enrich my life (just as his product already has).

I hope during the COVID break you've had some time to spend with you Conrad Johnson tube stuffs...perfect opportunity.

OT - My wife will be first to tell you I am not a normal person when it comes to audio. Kidding aside, tube connoisseurs know Aesthetix. IIRC many spectacular reviews by IMHO the best reviewer in audio, Robert Harley. Jim White's design philosophy struck a chord with me - have been itching to try so many years but now am too old/lazy to buy even more components.

I've had multiple decent DAC's, monster SS amp (Krell FPB 600 and Classe 400), monster Subwoof, etc., but when it comes to 2 channel music, the most pleasure by far has and always will come from Linn Sondek/Koetsu Rosewood to Conrad Johnson to VTL. Cheers.
