Pennynike's Southern WI GTG on 3/21/20 - 15.12.12 Atmos + DTS-X Pro Demo

Hello all! I have mentioned it to a few Trinnov owners on this forum, but I am writing to announce the debut of my new JBL Synthesis system with a GTG scheduled on March 21, 2020. The system includes 12 extremely potent subwoofers, and will feature JBL and Revel speakers in a maxed out 32 channel system on a JBL SDP-75-32!

To my knowledge, this will be the 1st time that a system is showcased that features DTS-X Pro with 3 speakers on the ground. There are also 12 ceiling speakers, all of which consist of JBL SCL-3's.

There are 12 bed surround speakers, all of which consist of JBL's flagship in-wall speaker, the SCL-2.

Of course, the 3 main channels are JBL M2's.

I will also be showcasing DTS-X and Atmos demo material, which I have exclusively been preparing since having purchased the the JBL SD-75-32!

Equipment list:

Mains: 3 JBL Master Reference M2's;
Surrounds: 12 JBL SCL-2 inwalls;
Heights: 12 JBL SCL-3 inwalls;
Ground speakers: 3 Revel C763l's;
Subs: 4 Seaton Terraform D18's & 8 Josh Ricci designed Othorns;
Sub Amplifiers: 3 Speakerpower SP2-12000's;
Speaker Amps: Crown DCI 2 | 1250n, Crown 4 | 1250n, Crown 4 | 300, Crown 8 | 300n, Crown 8 | 600, Crown 2 | 300;
Pre-amp: JBL SDP-75-32
Projector: TBD
Media Player: Nvidia Shield
Screen: 13 foot wide, Seymour Center Stage XD acoustically transparent

It should be a great time, and it would be wonderful if some forum members in the 20k+ section would be able to attend

Thanks Steve! Here are some photos of the DIY screen, and a peek at what lies behind the screen. There are 6 subs behind the mains, and the other 6 are now placed in the rear of the theater. The screen is wall-to-wall, and swings up to the ceiling. Very useful for when I need to get behind the screen.

And for those that can appreciate a great rack, here are pics of my DIY equipment rack, which I feel turned out quite well! The equipment included on the rack isn't too shabby either

I will be attending. What an amazing setup @pennynike1

It has more in this one than the Trinnov ISE 2020 demo showing off 15.3.10.

Very impressive.

10 hours is a bit of a ways, but how often do you see someone using an scl-2 as a surround speaker?

Not often enough, Penny, but I can console myself by listening to @mikela 's SBA theater - only an hour, round trip, so it's wife-approved.

I visited Mike's theatre last fall when I was in LA, and the sound is every bit as good as advertised.

Hmmm....those 80 miles are certainly doable. Should be fun.

I think I have established that I am a JVC guy. I have tried Sony, BenQ, and Epson, and my feeling is that JVC's black floor and contrast are just very tough to beat.

I had a JVC NX9 up to today, but that has just been sold and will be headed to a new owner on Saturday. Most likely, I will be purchasing a JVC NX5 to hold me over until JVC offers the next round of projectors. I have now owned 2 JVC NX9's, but there is still a chance that I could purchase a third.

The Christie Eclipse truly sounds like the dream projector, but the cost at the moment far exceeds my budget for home theater. Purchasing all of this audio gear was not inexpensive.

Going to @Art Sonneborn 's GTG's inspires big purchases for me. I must resist seeing the Eclipse if he goes ahead and buys it, because I know I will want it!!

You wouldnt believe the price point of the Christie Eclipse @Mike_WI . It far exceeds even the high price I was even envisioning for it. It may very well be fantastic, but I will stick to projectors that are within the realm of affordability

Well, Arrow has been hinting around the price for awhile now. Whatever it is I wouldn't be shocked unless Arrow's hints were off by a huge margin.

I had spoken to him via phone last year about it, and I received a generalized quote at the time. The figures I received yesterday were higher than what had been anticipated. Not that I could have afforded it, had it been the original price discussed via phone. Oh, to be rich!
