Sony VPL-VZ1000ES UST Projector 2.35:1 Anamorphic Capability

The Sony site shows the Sony VPL-VZ1000ES UST projector has anamorphic capability. The manual mentions 2.35:1 Zoom ability for 3840x2160 signals. I'm guessing this is a similar feature to the anamorphic zoom shown on Sony's VPL-VW1100ES page, which states it can zoom to 2.35:1 with or without an anamorphic conversion lens. I understand that if no conversion lens is used then the projector is just zooming and you are only using a 3k image, but if a conversion lens like the Panamorph Paladin (DCR) is used then the full resolution of the projector can be used.

Can anyone confirm how anamorphic projection is implemented on the VZ1000ES? Can it project a 2.35:1 image with the same max image height as the 16:9 projection? Does it utilize the full DCI 4096 imager width for this? If indeed one desired to use a conversion lens, is there any lens out there that would work with this UST projector?

I don't see any official owner's thread to start this discussion in, I suppose because there aren't very many owners of this pricey niche product. Thank you to anyone out there with a VZ1000ES or experience with its supposed anamorphic capability!

I would think Panamorph could answer that question, were you to contact them.

Yes, I hope so; I did email them just before posting this. We'll see...
