I wonder how log it will take these displays to overtake projectors in both commercial theater and home theater use.

Well not as long as they are at least 10 times a new RGB LASER 4K DCi projector. And these are largely still technology demo's to convince people of potential. And let manufacturers/vendors learn and continue product development.

Oof their website is pretty rough. No max brightness spec, and that's the most important part since the DCI spec is still in flux and if they can't meet it, their product is DOA.

Bonus points for calling their potential customers' theaters stuffy: "A space behind the stuffy theater can be reinvented to more customer satisfying interiors."

Looks like every module is actively cooled which will gather a ton of gross dust, unlike Samsung which is passive cooled.

I'd love to know where they pulled the 30,000 hour lifespan for projectors. I'd reckon that's below average hours for the average currently installed projector, lol.

One pro appears to be that the cabinets are interconnected with simple RJ45 jacks, instead of the ribbons like Samsung uses.

The current internal RGB LASER array DCi projectors are designed to fit in existing Xenon projector space. Repurposing/recovery of projection area, requires reconstruction.

Panasonic offered a light engine replacement/for its ~30 K lumens projectors, but only one as that was the max for the rest of the projector. Don't remember at how many thousand hours, 25, 30, 40 x2? They showed how they do this at ISE a few years ago.
