If you put a value of what you are willing to pay for a good set, that could potentially bring out people that were not thinking about selling if it is inciting.

I saw one on AVSForum two years ago for around $5400. Figure $5000 is a fair price for 4250i or 4400i. Would also consider SRP-230 and SRP-330. Thanks!

That is a tempting price and I wish you the best luck finding a good one.

At $6K + Shipping I would consider selling you one of my SRP-230... LOL

I'm going to say its not possible for $4000.

But if someone is giving their stuff away I guess.

Call dealers within a few states of you, and watch Ebay...

I've been toying with the concept for years and always figured I would find a used set-up but...

For some reason it seems that used equipment comes up on eBay / AVSforum VERY RARELY. Realizing that dBox is now about a decade old I'm really surprised it still hasn't surfaced that much.

Was there just very little of the equipment sold, or are people just not upgrading / swapping out?

Also kind of surprised that people haven't found a way to adapt the theater seats to the home system somehow. Theaters are always closing and there has to have been thousands of dBox theater seats put into used circulation.

Likewise why has the home cost never scaled down. At a certain point they could make more money with volume sales at more palatable price.

Just over 2 years ago (Dec 2015) there were great deals on new equipment on ebay. I pulled the trigger on finishing my remaining seating then.

To what? One of the best reasons to add D-Box is unlike so much other parts of the theater, you really don't need to upgrade anything over time. The controller was an exception and D-Box helped owners of the older controllers get better deals on the upgrade.

I bet they move them to new installs. If you come accross these, they would not be difficult to implement into home seating.

Lots haved hoped for this, but does not seem they will. Would be nice to see more mainstream but they have their reasons, I guess.

Anyone know if the d-box gaming chair would be compatible with movies either through PC or standard home d-box controller?

Certainly a much cheaper point of entry.

Quest Extreme 300 series

Hi all,

I hope its ok to post in this thread but I could really use some help.

selling house and moving to a small place in a few weeks.

I have two 'Quest Extreme' 3 actuator seats (300 series) that are built into Jaymar Black leather recliners.
In addition I have two of the same exact Black jaymar seats that are built to have the actuators put in

and I have the MCI-4P controller (never updated to the newer one).

Im looking to sell the lot of it for $6k. Stuff is in perfect shape.

Is that reasonable? And what is the best way to do that?

Thanks

Where do you see this list of D-Box coded "music videos" and "VR games/experiences"?

I am also looking for a used/refurbished 4250i or 4400i system. (I'd even consider an SRP system.)

Based on the sale prices of recent transactions, I'd say I'm willing to pay market price for the right set.

Thanks!

I put together a youtube playlist of some of the songs they did.

They're okay- unfortunately the 20-25 seconds it takes HEMC to realize what you're playing is kind of a buzz kill.

It works fine for me whether I'm logged in or not. What's not working for you?

You might also find it by searching for "D-Box Music Videos"

What does everyone use to keep up maintenance on the actuators? Like lubricants and the such.

A couple years ago, one of my actuators developed a squeak (more of a honk) on fast moving action. Due to advice I received here, I lubed it up with some lithium grease and the noise hasn't come back yet.

The best way to apply was to turn the chair on its side, run the "motion demo" that was available on the old controllers, and then unplug it when the actuator was fully extended. Apply grease (or whatever) directly to the smaller cylinder, and then resume the demo.

You can still do the motion demo with a KAI-1P and the D-Box software on a computer. I don't think the HEMC can start the demo.

Thanks for compiling this YouTube playlist of most of the D-Box Music Videos, I can't wait to demo these whenever I get the chance. Since the HEMC displays a release date of 10-03-2017 and 10-02-2017 for these coded musics, I wonder if there is some kind of blu-ray disc source for these D-Box Music Videos other than streaming via YouTube.

On a side note, can someone please list the newly release VR stuff also coded for D-Box from the HEMC? I don't see the VR stuff stated in an earlier post. Last year on here I listed VR games that were coded for D-Box; I would love to update that current list to include the stated VR stuff.

Hi guys,

Stupid question time Does D-Box work ok with 4K UHD Blurays?

Also, I was looking at my potential seating setup and identified the Jaymar ones as a good option for me (cost, aesthetics etc.). Are the 3 actuator versions ok for a single chair, do they compare well with the 4 actuator chairs? And is the 3 actuator chair better/same as a 4 actuator loveseat?

I take it that the seating should not be linked (by armrests) and should be independent units of each other?

On a more general note, what do you think about D-Box as a company? Whilst I am always happy to support (with my hard earned $) innovative tech companies, I am concerned about 1) customer service with any issues, 2) speed & quantity of motion codes for new & older movies 3) long term outlook for the company, after all, Kaleidescape had a near death experience not so long ago-which thankfully was averted?

I appreciate your answers & thoughts guys

Yes, also streaming, etc.

I have both 3 and 4 actuators in single seats and the performance is about the same.

Correct, not connected at all.

There are no guaranties with any company but D-Box products will likely outlast any PJ, AVR and possibly speakers that you may invest in. Even K severs need to upgrade anytime a new format comes out (DVD->BD->UHD). On top of all the upgrades I have made over almost 30 years, D-Box always gets the most compliments, feedback.

Much appreciated thxman,

A dealer has offered me 3250c & 4400c actuator sets which I am confused about as I thought the model codes ended with an ‘i’. Is there a difference?

Thanks again
