I have the marantz 6012 and found a workaround that works great. Using Zone 2 will kick out of of atmos.

Use the RCA pre-outs on the back of your receiver for the front left, right, and center channels. Use RCA Y-cables and then stereo connection into your HEMC. I can send pics or drawing if you need help.

With this method my HEMC reads the movie right away and atmos remains.

That's awesome! If you don't mind, could you send me a pic, so I can do the exact same thing. I only have a one of these https://www.homedepot.ca/product/com...ack/1000724189

Get one of these as well. Put this cord into the left and right fronts. And put your cord into the female end of this and the center channel (with respective colors matching) and then stereo end into the HEMC

Thank you so much! I will try that out. I wanted to watch Godzilla: KOTM in D-BOX and Atmos, but couldn't get past the stereo sound.

I am pretty happy with the level of content that D-BOX is producing. I am often surprised when I get the e-mails that list the new movies that are coded, many I've never heard of before. I just watched Standoff because it was available to stream from Netflix, and starred some good actors. Decent movie. But it was from 2016. An odd choice, as are many others...

But they don't seem to code the Netflix exclusives. 6 Underground deserved a code. Am I missing something or have they ever coded a movie that was a streaming exclusive? I don't think they have. They need to start covering some of those. I can't be the only one that believes that is a gap in their coverage with as many great exclusives Netflix has had over the years. I understand we may not get any more series codes but these are standalone movies I'm talking about that likely will get eventual physical releases in many cases.

Has anyone found a way to really dial in the timing delay of D-Box to match the audio and action on screen.

I adjusted mine to the feel of gun shots / Drums / slaps to faces etc... with the d-box vibration. But wanted to know if there was any other methods people used, or have most not even though about dialing in the delay?

Any really good scenes with very distinct on / off feeling to try to time align it all?

This may seem like an unconventional choice, but just the other night we watched the live action remake of beauty and the beast. During the song Gaston, there’s a part where he spits into a bucket. You feel the initial spit in the chair and then feel it again when it hits the bucket. I found it a great way to judge the timing.

D Box HEMC Controller Issue

Hi,

We recently procured a new D Box HEMC controller replacing the old D Box and make all the required connectivity, upgraded the software and firmware to the latest versions and established the link between the app and the controller. but unfortunately the app page is struck only in Starting Audio Capture and not moving further for long time.

Can Anyone guide or help if you had come across the same issue. Also provide us the contact email or number to reach Dbox as there is no response on their info email.

Wow!! This was fun to watch. Tony, is there any way you can share some more info on the fan project, software, etc . Seems really promising and I’m sure we’d all like to have a little project during this quarantine!

Possibly, I will speak to Nick and see what options we have for a possible GitHub Release.

That would be great! I have tons of free time now (quarantine) and can help contribute! I have D-BOX setup and a bunch of raspberry pis and relays lying around (not sure if this is how you’re triggering the fans). Keep us updated would love to join!

Is anyone else having issues with their HEMC? Mine seems to be cutting in and out and say it shows no seats at the moment.

I don’t want to power the unit down and do a reboot if it is in the middle of an update.

Im fine now as well.

Either it was an update or the jukebox website was not logging in properly.

Actually I have a random question that I could find the answer too if I just unplugged the Ethernet but does the HEMC still work if the Internet would go down? Or does it absolutely need the Internet to determine the movie and timestamp in the movie?

I’m pretty sure it doesn’t need internet to work- just to download new titles

Fantastic theater!

Do you have a thread for your "4D" fans?

Any possibility the technique could also be used to strobe effects?

After my buddy and I experienced our first 4D movie at a local theater for TROS we both enjoyed the wind, water and strobe effects. Found the scent rather hit or miss and the fog effect pointless with the 3D image and huge delay is achieving the effect. We also found the seats not at all comfortable and much more enjoyed going back to our staple of D-Box.

I joked after that we could achieve the effects we like by duct taping a little person on each side of the theater ceiling with a spray bottle, small fan, assortment of scented aerosol sprays and a flashlight.

You setup looks less kidnapping intensive.

My HEMC has had trouble staying connected to the network. It's dropping off, and back to access point mode. Maybe everytime it tries to do a code update. Haven't succeeded at one since the 8th.

Anyone else?
