Ill add you to the list of people that are making my purchase seem like the right thing to do lol and @800 a pair im feeling good. Its funny because when i got my 70s i really liked them but always seemed like they were still not giving me the sound i wanted. I too like them and they will go into the living room for when im not hiding back here.
thanks

I like steak!

I haven't even put any music through these yet, other than what was playing during the credit scenes of a movie I watched. Looking forward to some more time with them.

I was really upset that I didn't order some E1s as well. I currently have some cheap Polk Bookshelf speakers on my walls for surrounds and rears. I have to warn people from banging their head into the corner when walking by. I REALLY want a more shallow speaker for my surrounds like the E1s. However, I won't be willing to pay the price of the E1+ when they come out. I would have the Closeout, but by the time I realized they were there and I wanted them, they were sold out.
hope this isnt against any rules here but the e1 are still available and discounted. You can preorder them for 168.

I hadnt really thought about getting them until you posted that today about people hitting their heads and so i looked at mine. They are too high up to head butt, but i got to thinking about how they will look and sound after changing out to the airmotivs and now i have them on order. I may leave the mon 30s up there until i get the T's and C sound calibrated to see if there are any differences between the E1 and mon 30.

Just ordered a a set of speakers to replace the monoprice premium 5.1.2 set i started off with and felt was lacking after trying out them. Ended up going with T1/C2/E1 and will be looking at replacemtn subs once i find a good deal on one. Will use the existing Onkyo 686 i have. Any recommendations for atmos speakers? The speaker mounted ones on the monoprice i have seem to work well just not see anything like that from Emotiva. Room is small at only 11x12 with 8ft ceiling. Sit 8ft from tv.

Emotiva is coming out with an A1 atmos speaker according to their brochure they were handing out at a recent audio convention. They look to be similar to the Klipsch style, can be either upfiring or on wall. I'm waiting on them to replace my pioneer upfiring's i have now.

The KEF R700’s measured very well in the Stereophile review and are highly regarded speakers. The fact that the Emotiva’s made you forget about the KEF’s speaks volumes to how good these Emotiva’s are. I have seen so many great reviews of the Airmotiv’s but it still seems like they are audio’s best kept secret.

FIRST Emotiva speaker purchase: T1 and C2 for L/C/R

Hi all, just bought my first Emotiva product: T1 and C2 airmotiv speakers for my main front channels. After much research into all the available ID brands and mainstream products (Ascend Sierra 1, Elac Debut, RSL, Martin Logan, etc.), I finally pulled the trigger on Emotiva when I saw their closeout prices for their folded ribbon tweeter towers and center!

I have it matched to my 9.2 channel Denon 4500 AVR. Mismatched surrounds are Focal Birds and Atmos overheads are a pair of Monoprice Caliber 5 1/4" coaxial in-ceiling speakers. Since I'm only doing 5.2.2 Atmos, I'll be able to bi-amp the T1. It will be a few weeks until everything is set up, but I'll let you all know how it all sounds.

For context, my HT is only the front corner of a much larger mixed use entertainment room; total room size is 17' (front) x 30', but my HT area takes up only the front corner of about 14' x 14'. Total cubic volume is around 4,500 c.f., and so considered a "large" room for subwoofer matching purposes.

Looking forward to the folded ribbon tweeters!

I'm still shocked that the T1/C2 could be sold so cheaply, and I think I understand how they prioritized their cost structure: all the money went into high quality drivers, and the speaker cabinet was where they took a few shortcuts by not adopting expensive and exotic inert materials with the the density of lead. For HT applications that are going to be processed to death by Audyssey anyway, I think it was the right compromise.

i think you hit the nail on the head.. the only weakness i find in the b1 (5" bookshelf) is high volume resonance that i think is caused by the cabs, until you hit about 85 db they are pretty great ..

Wanted to see if i should ordered the E2 for my new room set up. I ordered E1 thinking they are smaller and will work better but now i am second guessing my desision. I planned to put the E1 behind the couch it sits about 1 ft from the wall. About 6- 8 ft apart. Room is small only 11x12. My concern is i cant angle the E1 but the E2 have an angle. I can always use the E1 as a back surround i guess since i have a 11.2 reciever and was going to try and do 5.2.4 at some point.

While they could have added more to the interior and of course for a higher cost this review shows the interior of the T1 and at least there is cross bracing and the crossover looks of high quality. https://translate.google.com/transla...ett-teszt_2285

Do you listen to them near-field? And do you ever feel like they sound like a "woofer and a tweeter"? That was my impression of the Airmotiv series on a desk - they lacked coherence near-field compared to other speakers. You may not notice unless you have other speakers to swap out, though.

Just recieved my T1/C2/E1 today. People are not kidding when they say the C2 is massive.
One thing i am not sure of is the E1 mounting. It looks like it can be mounted with tweeter on top or bottom. Does it matter? If i outt the tweeter on top at ear lvl the woofer will sit below the couch for the most part.

no i use them in a small ht/music set up, about 8 ft away .. they sound pretty great until they get to the "stressed db" level .. then the cabs get a bit resonant ..it isn't horrible but my wd 10.1s are much more coherent at hi db..they image a bit better as well , more 3d ...

i purchased two pairs of E1s to go with the T1s and C2 I purchased a little over a month ago. They should arrive tomorrow.

I know this sounds insane with the quality of these speakers, but I'm more excited about the size of the E1s over the sound. I know they will sound better as surrounds than my old cheap Polk Book Shelf speakers, but surrounds are just ambient so I'm not sure I'll pick out one speaker being better than the next in a movie setting. I hope I'm pleasantly surprised. I'll just be happy not worrying about people slamming their heads into my surrounds anymore What an incredible price with the Closeout. These are cheaper than my old cheap polk bookshelf speakers I bought 14 years ago.

Oh Emotiva what have I done! I think they look better in person than I thought they would. I ordered new banana plugs for the reconfiguration of my little home theater so I will have to wait until tomorrow to hear them. They were packed good, the boxes only had minor damage and the speakers got no damage. Lots of work to do for my poor body now.

I hope I'm pleasantly surprised. I'll just be happy not worrying about people slamming their heads into my surrounds anymore What an incredible price with the Closeout. These are cheaper than my old cheap polk bookshelf speakers I bought 14 years ago.
I was going to leave my polk mon 30s up until i could hear the rest of the system with the new speakers first. Just to see if i could tell a difference but i may just swap them all out now just to get done.
Hopefully we both enjoy the E1's.

One thing i am not sure of is the E1 mounting. It looks like it can be mounted with tweeter on top or bottom. Does it matter? If i outt the tweeter on top at ear lvl the woofer will sit below the couch for the most part.

Are either of you two using 12 gauge wire for your surrounds? Wondering if 12 works well for the E1s since the posts are spring loaded.

I used 14 gauge for all mine (C2, T-zero, E1), but I'm no audio expert. Seems to me that 12 gauge would fit just fine, 14 was not a tight fit on the E1s.

LG 65" C9; Denon AVR-S750H
5.1.2: Emotiva Airmotiv C2, T-Zero (x2), E1 (x4); HSU VTF-2

12 awg is not beneficial until you are approaching wire runs of 50 feet. And, as others noted, it gets hard to get behind the speaker when flat against the wall. I'm using 14 awg.
