Does anyone in here have the T1+'s?

Still trying to score the T1's but I'm curious about the T1+.

Been really enjoying the C2.

Are the crossover improvements worth the extra $200 for the T2+ over the T2?

I never pass up an opportunity to praise the C2 There are 'better' centers out there for sure, some of which I've owned and let go but all regrets vanished once I got my C2. It's an incredible performer on its own, even moreso at its pricepoint.

I see this morning that the B1's are now available again, but as B1+. Is this just a rebranding? It's still $229 and there's nothing in the description about any new and improved aspect of the speaker.

well T1's are on the way to complete my front stage.

Next up are bigger/better sub(s). Looking at Rythmik FVX15.

Here is the review from Stereophile where John Atkinson stated that the response was balanced with a few peaks. He also noted an optimal crossover design: https://www.stereophile.com/content/...r-measurements. Looks pretty darn good to me overall.

So is the C1 not getting a crossover upgrade? It's never gone out of stock, so just wondering. Still debating the C1 vs the C2 for my small home theater since it's just done in small bedroom so I'm sure the C1 would be fine (plus I'll be getting B1+), but the C2 did get upgraded to the C2+.

Honestly, I suspect the 'update' was more for aesthetic reasons than to actually change out any components/change the sonic performance. The C1's aesthetic is already in line with the T0 and T1+ sicne it didn't have the second set of cutouts. I'll be interested to see just how much of a difference the upgraded crossover actually makes.

actually the emotiva website does state the crossover will be addressed (at least on some models.. ).. the b1+'s being one.. mine(first gen b1) are at Dennis Murphy's having the mid range bump being eliminated( at least that's the plan, and he's probably pretty good).....

I had reached out to them when I was considering the T1, and they basically confirmed what you said. He mentioned the cosmetic change before he mentioned the small change to the crossover. I was personally hoping for a more dramatic style change but I went a different route anyways. I tried to dig up the email but it seems I deleted it.

i'm actually using emitiva basx subs.. they don't suck for the price i paid.. the 8 went for $200 , and the 10 was a scratch & dent i got for $235.. i'm gonna say they are both a level above my bic v1220 sub(that doesn't really suck either ,but isn't anything great..).. the 8 is actually *great* for 2 channel music in a small room...it's plenty fast and clean..

Any experience with their S line subs? Not much reviews out there.

IE: "The Airmotiv S15 is a powered subwoofer that features a 15” heavy duty downward firing active low frequency driver, and a 15” front firing passive radiator."

On a side note... someone local is selling (2) full marty cabinets. But that's another can of worms. I wouldn't even know where to begin to hook those up.

the s sub line is probably a bit better , but the specs are similar to the basx line , i know nothing about marty subs.. i would think the best deal on subs right now might be rythmik or hsu, or svs.. rsl speedwoofer's are comparable to the basx line i think, maybe a great deal..

HSU may be the best in terms of value, with Rythmik as a step up option for those who want the best sound quality with lots of integration options.

Jumping back in here...

I bought, and raved about, the T-Zero + T1 earlier this year. Then the upgrade bug hit, and I've spent the last 6+ months climbing up the B&W ladder (cm6s2, 704s2, 702s2). I just pulled my T-Zero out of the back, plugged them in to my new A-100, set them sort of beside my desk and facing directly at me, and it's *so nice*. Compared to the B&W stuff, these are warm, inviting, and *so* pleasant to listen to at lower volume levels (I always thought the B&W speakers sounded better the louder you pushed 'em). I swapped out the 704s2 for a bit because I *should* be enjoying them more in the same position. They definitely have things they do better - they are much better at higher volume, the bass is better defined, and the mids are obviously clearer (maybe that's just brighter?), but none of that makes them more pleasant to listen to in this use case.

All this to say, I'm re-discovering my T-Zero and loving them. And the A-100 is pretty slick as well. My goal was always a comfortable, pleasant music listening experience while I'm working (I work from home). If I had started with this combination, I very likely wouldn't have spent the many thousands of dollars I've spent on other speakers searching for something better.

Just curious: Did you find the T1 to be worth the extra $300 over the T-Zero?

~ Are you a "geek hobbyist" obsessed with squeezing out that last 5-10% improvement? The economy will thank you...especially the Chinese one. Or are you more of a get-set-and-forget "casual user" who simply wants to increase your enjoyment of movies, TV and gaming? Relax, HT isn't rocket science, nor does it have to cost an arm and a leg---especially if you ignore the aforementioned vocal minority. And remember to smile...it's just a silly hobby, after all. :)

For my purposes, namely listening to music at low-to-moderate levels, no. If you're talking home theater then the extra dynamic capabilities of the T1 would come into play and make it worth the extra spend, I think.

Sell the B&Ws and get the Buchardt towers when they come out.

Just posted this in the Airmotiv-speaker thread, because for some reason I couldn't find this thread even through a search - weird.

Anyway, just hooked up my newly acquired B1+ pair and C1 and one of the B1+ has a busted 5-1/4" woofer. Hopefully, support is quick in getting a replacement, it's Sunday so I assume I won't hear anything back until tomorrow at the earliest. Not giving me a warm fuzzy about these new B1+'s though.

Every manufacturer has duds and I'd be very surprised if Emotiva provides anything less than great service. Mildly inconvenient but not anything to sweat.

Hi,

Thought i would post my personal thoughts on the Emotiva B1 " Wow they are amazing and at $229 Unheard off "

I have reviewed the Emotiva B1, This bookshelf speaker is incredible with its open space sound and amazing details thanks to its ribbon tweeters, Plus they look great with the grill ( Which is magnetic ) off.

Pros :

+ Style
+ Detailed sound
+ Dynamic
+ Small footprint
+ Ribbon tweeters
+ Magnetic grill cover ( so looks great on or off )
+ PRICE !!!!!!

Cons :

- Lack of bass ( needs a sub if you want it for main movie listening )
- Nothing else at this price

Many people compare it with the Adam T5V speaker, But alot dont mentioned that thous are Active Studio Monitor ( meaning powered ) AND costs more then the Emotiva B1 and i still like the sound of the B1.

I'm happy to say Emotiva service pulled through quickly and immediately sent a replacement out and got me a return label for me to send the defective B1+ pair back the next day.

Having them finally matched up with the E1 pair on my back wall for surrounds, and this whole system is a definite and major upgrade over my old system of Energy C-50/C-C50 speakers. Enjoying this immensely!
