It doesn't matter what you're buying, there's always bigger, faster, better... The big question is, do you like the sound? If you do, its a great dal. If you still wonder, maybe you need to keep looking. My understandind is that the replacement has a more neutral sound. But also recognize that's a 5 speaker set of the new SF Olympia will be twice the cost.

When I heard the Cremona Ms, I knew I'd be happy for a while. So I quit shopping for speakers and started buying more music. smile.gif

There's the rub. There won't be any music playing on these at all. 100% theater. Feel like it's a waste on them. I already have my two channel setup downstairs.

Hello smile.gif
I own a pair of SF venere 3.0 in white piano floss finish and om looking for a center channel speaker. I have read alot about The vendte center and the reviews have Bern mixed. Bit mostly people sau it does not match up to The more expensive venere 3.0 speakers. Is this correct? Does any of you guys have The vendte 3.0 with The venere center?

These speakers will be paired with a Mark Levinson 433 amp (3 x 400 watts @ 4ohms) along with an anthem D2v2 pre/pro (which ships next week) and a Rel Subwoofer. The screen you see is a Pioneer kuro 141FD plasma. We can't wait for the results!

Any experiences with Sonus that you all care to share?
To bad Franco's dead the last true speaker he designed was the Cremona two years to finish the desighn fabulous I own those original electa amator, the Extremas they are incredible. The Cremona m was not designed by Franco designed by team sonus. To bad they just didn't keep making the original cremona.

Here is what I am thinking for a new set-up kids are growing up and they enjoy good sound and movies

Olympica III

Olympica Center Channel

Olympica II for the surround

The room is small so I am thinking a good 5.1 will great speakers will do magic :)

I think I want to hear the room when you're done!!! smile.gif.

I haven't heard the Olympias yet, but have high expectations. I'm sure they'll sound great and want to compare them to my Cremona Ms.

HI bypass911,

How does the sound changed after break in? I have run mine about 30 hours or so and I haven't noticed any change at all.

Was it subtle?

What about the center channel...did it improve or stayed the same? I have the venere center/wall/2.5 and i find it "different"(a little chestier in some movies) than the 2.5's. Will that go away after break in?

Thanks for your input man! Very nice setup!

Happy Holidays All!

I just purchased a pair of the Luito cherry wood floor-standers and Smart speaker from Magnolia new in boxes at 50% off about three weeks ago or so. Great deal! They sound marvelous as they replaced my Kef XQ series of speakers. Also, I found a set of Luito cherry monitors that will be used for the rears because an occasional blu-ray movie or concert ain't necessarily a bad thing. The expected arrival for the monitors is this coming Friday.

This was probably a deal that had to be made and was meant to happen. I originally had paid for a pair of used black Luito floor-standers on AudioGon.com for $2800 but the deal fell through due to some issues the seller later found out about the speakers. Of course I was disappointed but the seller immediately refunded my money. Great seller by the way!

In my frantic search for the Luitos, I called my sales person at Magnolia to just inquire if he had some available ( wasn't expecting that he had them) and to my amazement he had one pair available new in boxes! I explained my situation to him about the AudioGon.com deal on how it fell through and asked the customary "how much" for the Luitos. A couple of minutes later he got and offered to sell them to me for 3 grand and as I noted earlier the finish was cherry wood. Of course I was blown away! Having a relationship with your sales person is critical and I must say Magnolia can offer some aggressive pricing on kits.

I've had many opportunities to hear the Luitos at my friends place and I saw the potential and just knew the Luitos were for me and would sound great with my electronics!

Sonus faber speakers has a certain sound or character about them that are non-fatiqueing and just are plain musical. Perhaps it's the SF house sound that draws me in.

Enjoy the music!

Congrats on your purchase! I would love to compare those to my Cremona Ms.

On other forums McIntosh and Audio Research are often recommended. But like any audio purchase, you should audition (in your own room, if possible).

I don't have experience with Pass Labs. But seems like one of the first times I read about the Cremona M in Absolute Sound they were being driven by a Pass integrated. The reviewer thought they were a great combination together. So I would assume the model you reference would be good as well.

I don't know what the rules are for referencing other message boards, so I hope this isn't in violation: there is quite a bit of discussion about Sonus Faber on the Audio Afficiando message boards. I won't post a link, but google should easily get you there. They have quite a following for McIntosh over there. But I think you'll find some helpful information on Sonus Faber.

Actually thanks- I have spying this thread for Olympica owner info and there hasn't been any yet. Setting up some auditions for next month and I would like to include Olympica.

There's quite a bit of discussion on the Olympia series on AA. I haven't heard them yet personally, but the consensus is that they are a bit more neutral than the Cremona series. Some people like that better, some don't.

They are a little polite for rock music. But I'm quite happy with my Cremona Ms. However, as they say upgraditus is incurable. It has me thinking about moving to separates to see if I could get a little more out of them.

wse, so you finally got your Faber's, congrats! Do you have pics up anywhere yet?

Great suggestion by Nuz1, the AF forum is a great place and there is a big SF presence there. The site overall has a HUGE Mac fanbase so expect a lot of recommendations for mac gear biggrin.gif There is even one individual who claims that in a blind test he could pick the Mac amp out of the crowd, this is the solid state amps and not the tube amps rolleyes.gif

Question to anyone who owns/previously owned any of the Venere speakers with the white gloss finish:

Is the white gloss finish at all reflective? They look fantastic in that color, but my concern is that they may be distracting in a lights-off, movie watching environment if the TV's light reflects off of the finish. Should I be at all worried about this? I've only seen them in black in person, and it's tough to tell from online pictures...

Thanks for any help!

I listened to both the elipsa and olympica3 the other night.. The most moving ( emotionally) speakers I've ever heard- both models!
I liked the look of the olympica's more though.
Cheers, Mac
