Well, the weather is getting better so we may have to start thinking about getting one scheduled.

I'm certainly in

We can't let all the KC crew and east coast guys to have all the fun! Not sure how long it will take me to build a room and acquire all the gear needed. Certainly I have a good chunk but still need some things. I would like to get a nice amp for my 215's with a lower noise floor and extended FR response like a D-sonic or comparable eventually. 215's and wanting at least 1500ish watts makes the Amp selections much fewer...Not sure if I will go Atmos out of the gate, if I don't I essentially only need a PJ, screen and surround spreakers along with room treatments, add a processor and four more surrounds if so.

Anyway house shopping for me is simple, basic level of ammentities but really all centered around a room or at least garage I can convert. I have always liked the garage conversion thought for 9ft ceilings and building a room within to contain bass.

I am installing several crest cc2800 and a cc5500 amps which have a gain select switch for x40 (32db) or x20 (26 db) am wondering which one to select when using an Arcam 550 as a pre/pro? Suggestions anyone?

I am really liking the CC2800's specs, 111db SNR, 2800 watts bridged @4ohm s, 20hz-100,000hz FR response...Perfect for 215's but audiophile blasphemy to use such a 'poor sounding' pro amp going after audiophile sound lol! Don't worry I wont be buying popsicle sticks to raise my cables

Yeah, I have used lots of different amps over the years and the only difference I have ever heard was noise being added from some of the cheaper amps. I know that considering I am probably 75% music in the audiophile world it is a sin to not reach for the holy grail of amps, but so be it. I am very happy using pro amps and haven't heard anything in 45 years of chasing good sound that has me wanting to change.

Yea Those CC2800's can be had for 530 the lowest I have heard of yet, if anyone knows better PM me I will end up with three for each 215. Use my Pro Lite 7.5 (got fan coming to mod to a 19db fan thanks to @beastaudio ) for now then switch when I buy the CC's.

Interesting, yea 60 degrees on those 6k pair of 'Diamond' tweeters tapers a bit. At least the 6k pair off axis look better lol. Look, I don't claim to know and understand all this stuff, I was just curious in a general sense of the chosen 60x60 horn and if plans for any other patterns in the future...

They actually appear to be diamond cut from the back. LOL.
Seems like an expensive alternative to Be tweeters.

That is an interesting idea. Just listening to my system for a couple of hours is pretty boring and I haven't upgraded anything for a couple of years (thank god ) . If we had 3 or 4 locations within a say 20 mile radius that might be good. Let me think on this one a bit.

Yea for sure. Then the day when I complete my theater perhaps we can have a little 'grand opening' or something like that. 2hrs is not terrible drive...

Here is some great info on directivity at 43 min in. The entire thing is phenomenal for learning, he talks subs placement bass in room 58 min in...
He talks about the two optimal placements options with a 4 subwoofer system. He mentions getting rid of the big ugly 18" sub and trading for four smaller 10" subs. My first thought is, "Well how about a 21" in the front two corners, two 18" in rear corners and two 18" nearfield lol! Along with a trio of 215RT's Looking like no one is really interested in the FTW21's and I am stumbling into some surplus in a couple different ways so I may be keeping them. Just need to research now if building a new sealed box vs. keeping ported. A big corner sealed box with 34mm xmax 21" drivers could dig pretty deep

But directivity comments make me pretty set on converting a garage so I can manipulate room dimensions to match the 215RT's well.

Very nice raw response! I know like 7-8 cu ft is what everyone does these sealed at but is there any benefit to a larger cab for ultra low ULF? I doubt I will build another cab though, my 17 cu ft ported cab is tuned to 15.7 hz so add in room gain and will get action to 12hz probably as corner loaded front two subs.

After research I am confident getting the separate subwoofer's phase to match with the appropriate gear that can manipulate phase.

So basically after reading (which is quickly continuing with 8-9 tabs open) I am reminded of some great points I forgot being idle the last couple years. 4 subwoofer system is almost a must for anyone serious about bass, 3 is a good portion of the performance of 4 and two drops off quickly. This is different locations. According to Anthony Grimani the four corner's or middle point of each wall is basically a fool proof system for a great response over multiple seating locations.

Edit: Of course we know some rooms get natural chance advantages with less than four subwoofer locations

Well Axpona is 6 days away which means I'm prob like 10-12 days away from my 215RT's to ship

If you do a larger cab you'll get a smoother roll off to the low end but when i was doing the models it was only a couple db for significantly larger cabinets. The measurement I gave you there was only 1 sub.

If WAF wasn't an issue i'd have everything moved into a smaller space (one of the bedrooms is 16x20) and have a sealed FTW21 in each of the 4 corners.

Does any one know if the JTR sp1-4000 amp can be fully driven with 2mV from a minidsp 2x4hd? I have 3 Orbit Shifter LFU's and need the 80ms delay setting in the 2x4hd because they have a 14ft horn. I would rather use the minidsp 2x4 balanced but don't think it will work not enough delay.
