I'm REALLY excited to hear them since I never heard a CD yet. I though of DIY's, PSA, and JBL's but it really came down to the JBL's or JTR's and the JBL's were way to deep for my room. Even then I might've gone 215RM's if I had the depth. I called them "little" as in yes the smallest of the JTR lineup but I know they're nothing like a typical bookshelf.

I know my wife will want to move at some point but it could be 5-10 years and who knows what Jeff will have by then. But as you mentioned the parts he uses are top notch so until then these will do as mains and I'm sure I'll love em. I'm going from speakers that are in the 88-92db sensitive range and can handle 150 watts max to 95db efficient and 750 watts!

Should be fun...
You will love the 110s - they're the best rears I have used by a wide wide margin. I had towers back there for years - Martin Logan Motion 40s...these destroy them in every way. I will eventually be adding 2 more as sides, hopefully in the next month or so. Just need to see how biz goes w/ this virus scare. Oye.

I had a huge null from 45~80Hz that MCACC did nothing about and Audyssey provided up to 10dB in that region. Above 80Hz, the larger woofers from the 212s are punchier and snappier. Male voices are fuller and richer. I know there are at least two here playing Call of Duty and couldn't believe how much difference the JTR speakers made. ...
It's very common for people to underestimate how much mid-bass is sacrificed when transitioning at 80Hz from a big subwoofer driver to small mains and how much larger, more capable mains can contribute to overall sonic impact. Those like you who've heard the difference understand the importance of having a matched system that competently covers the full frequency range with equal impact.

@youthman great video, thank you. I just found your channel a few days ago and seen only a few videos, good stuff, hadn't seen this one. I've also read your posts here and was too oblivious to make the connection.

Now, what really makes this video special for me is on March 3, I ordered 3 210RMs and 4 110HT-SLs, not sure when you shot this, but those 110s could have been mine! That would be kinda really cool. It's also great to see Jeff's shop and his speakers getting built.

For god's sake, Jeff, don't get corona'ed! [Of course, I hope you never get sick a day in your life! But **** happens, so I selfishly hope it's after shipping my order. So shoot me, I'm only human, mostly] Did y'all see that Gene of Audioholics got it? Fortunately, he seems to have got through it OK. Yesterday, I was at HEB, big grocery chain in Texas, huge crowds and empty shelves!
Thanks @jamiebosco for sharing the video. I had a great time meeting Jeff and visiting two JTR home theaters. I should have the next video edited by tomorrow. @mechtheist I flew in to Wisconsin early on March 9 and got back on a plane in the evening of March 10. Not sure if those were yours or not. That would be pretty cool.

After hearing two JTR home theaters, I was blown away (almost literally LOL). I have always loved the sound of Klipsch mainly due to their clarity, detail and dynamics. JTR has the same characteristics but take it to an entirely new level. I've never heard anything quite like it before.

That and other similar comments sure are common after hearing Jeff's speakers for the first time, me included. I wonder if there's any other speakers that come close to having such a high percentage of folks that applies to, saying so openly or just thinking it.

Which leads me to say, I didn't see any other employees. Jeff buys the components and cabinets, but does he do all the assembly? I'm pretty new to this [huge] thread and haven't gotten through all that much yet, it's likely mentioned somewhere.

I'll prolly have a coronary just replacing the LCR. To be able to play at reference without wondering if I'm at, or close to, my speakers limits is gonna be a beautiful thing.

Blast from the past ...

One of my favorite JTR videos is this oldie. For some reason I couldn't paste the URL here?

In any case, search youtube for this "JTR Growler Duo subwoofer & Triple 8 top"

BTW, still rockin my 215RT LCR's and triple 8 surrounds. Might be time to consider upgrading to the new CD ...

I have to admit that I was a little upset with Jeff that he drove past my house and took you to Newby’s place, and I let him know.

While I can’t compete with Scott’s bass decibel output, nor Tony’s JTR Reference system, I do have a mostly all-JTR (most 2010 models) system with a few Seaton SubMersive’s and a BOSS platform.

I am only about 45 minutes from Axpona, so if you want to hear it...

I think we actually went to +15 on "orion" from the Metallica concert disc....but once you get to +10 it really doesn't matter....lol

Haha yah I'd imagine so. I had no idea we listened that loud. Damn that's pretty freakin loud. Guess that's a testament to the ability of high efficiency speakers to go loud without distortion and not bother your hearing.

I'm just a male Mehgan Trainor though cuz I never once thought anything positive or negative of your speakers as I was "all about that bass" in your room. Now I'm really looking forward to hearing the 110's......just wanna be like beast and listen at +15 too.

I should get the LCR's next week. I can't wait to hear what these "little" beasts can do. Thx again Jeff!
I have the 110HT's for my LCR in our living room and they sound awesome! My constraints were due to the wife wanting me to get rid of Salk towers and not replacing them with the 210RT's.

I haven't been fortunate to hear any of Jeff's other larger offerings but I am extremely impressed with their performance.

I've had my 110's to +10 on my Denon, powered by Outlaw 2200 mono blocks, and they are crystal clear.

Jesus! +10 Haha that's crazy. I've never gone over 0 on my Denon. I'm sure that'll change with the 110's though....

I was measuring my JBL's and it's funny that the JTR's aren't that much larger than them. They just happen to be able to handle 5x the power.

There's no distortion and they just keep going and going! I'm sure they're capable of much more but no sense in going any higher without hearing protection and then what's the point?

Bear in mind the +10 was just screwing around for a few minutes blasting music for the kids. And I just wanted to crank them up since I've never had speakers capable of the insane output of the JTR's.

How would something like the 110 compare to a more traditional bookshelf speaker if you only listen around -20db? I'm curious about 110 but can't play very loud because of neighbors.

Ya mad props to @youthman for spreading the JTR word and Jeff always thanks. Also @SOWK for letting them crash your theater. Love seeing JTR get its proper limelight.

Speaking of JTR im getting really excited because Im starting another stage of upgrades in my theater. First by getting a bigger screen as well as upgrading my JBL 3677 LCRs to JTR Noesis 212HTs. Ordering the screen this week and the Noesis LCRs either by Friday or next week.(waiting for payments to go thru to make space on the CC)

I called Jeff on Monday to check on inventory and its good to go. Ive been lusting over JTR mains since I first seen member @MKtheater get Triple 8's way back when. He was one of the first dudes to get them from Jeff if my memory serves me.

I purchsed dual Cap 1400s in 2017 and have been in love ever since. I am very excited to add more JTR to my theater!

(SOWK I think i recognize you from the Topmerssive extended Alcons demo at CEDIA last year. Front row all the way to the right at the demo. If it wasn't you then nevermind lol)

If you are in love after getting dual Cap 1400s, you will want to have babies with the 212HTs...

I see most people either go with the Single 8HTs or the 110HTs simply because it's not in them to spend that much on speakers, or go all out with the largest Reference speakers they can fit. The 212RTs have got to be the best selling JTR speakers! The lesser Noesis 212HTs continue to blow me away and are as good as, if not better than, the best designed 2 way speakers out there. Because of my awesome 212HT L/C/Rs, I no longer delay watching dialogue driven movies that don't have ULF.

I heard the 110HTs at Ethos4Lyfe's and they did not disappoint! He also can't listen very loud.

Before hearing them, I was hoping deep down inside that the 110HTs would sound more like other more traditional bookshelf speakers so that I can use whatever I still have as surrounds and save some $$$. Come on, the 110HTs are only $999 per, much less than my 212HTs.

That hope is gone.

Thank LMAO! Thats the vote of confidence that I like to hear! Ive never auditioned the Noesis 212HT's but I had also went in blind (deaf? lol) with the Caps. I knew they'd be performers from years of reading about them. I feel the same with the 212HT's or even more so!

Im a huge lover of audio, always have been, and in the 5 or 6 different setups ive had in my dedicated space ive never been able to get the speakers I wanted. It was always a compromise due to money and/or being an opportunist with used gear. I told myself after I got a really great projector I would start by getting Noesis LCR's then upgrade surrounds later if I feel the need. Ive always loved big horn loaded speakers and the large sense of scale they bring with them. My wife and I enjoy recreating the cinema experience at home including watching and listening at reference levels, in and around there. Very very much looking forward to getting them going!

BTW, still rockin my 215RT LCR's and triple 8 surrounds. Might be time to consider upgrading to the new CD ...
Still got mine too! Have not had any want to change them up. I did a while ago look into swapping the CD and drivers etc. It made more sense to buy new 215s vs the cost lol

Yeah, good to hear from you Nate. Every time I come back here and see the current offerings I start thinking about upgrading. With the Covid-19 virus hunker down mandate, I've been watching more movies at home (Ford vs Ferrari is a new favorite). Watched 1917 the other night and as always, we listened all the way through the closing credits for the music. It is a great tribute to the sound system that we (normally very busy people) will sit through the closing credits of most movies to hear the music. The 215RT's deliver on all counts and I'm sure the new CD/woofer would deliver more but damn, it already sounds so good ...

@SOWK , I've always admired your room and the video has done nothing to diminish my admiration! In fact my own room has in large part been inspired by yours.

Since I'm running a similar setup with 212RT LCR and Slant 8 surrounds, and S2 in my case - what are your speaker config settings including crossover? When I asked Jeff how to cross over the 212RTs to an S2, he recommended a bit of overlap with 40Hz HPF on the 212RTs and the sub rolling off at the usual 80Hz.

I haven't actually implemented that, mostly because I'm running Dirac on a NAD AVR and it only supports "enhanced bass", e.g. sub engaged with speakers set to large - and also because it seems like a fairly nonstandard thing to do.

Everyone’s can be different depending on room interaction, for movies I just leave it at the typical 80hz and for some music I will run full range.

If you can, run sweeps from REW with each crossover option and choose the one that offers the smoothest response at the crossover region.

With this iteration of my home theater that Im doing, I wanted to go beyond Audyssey XT32 for room correction and EQ. I wanted to get into REW and was thinking of using MiniDSP with a U-Mik and was wondering if anyone had suggestions of hardware to get other than this if not a good idea? Have an older Mac laptop.

My system is 7.1 with 2 subs. Have an AVR and a multichannel amp for my bed speakers. Not doing Atmos for now cause of low (7ft could still work probably)ceiling. Just an OppoUPD-203 as a source as well as a Roku Ultra.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

They will blow them away - any bookshelf I would think. I had towers and big bookshelves back there for years and these play much much louder. But also, the clarity and depth is there. I usually listen around -20 or -22 because of connected neighbors. The difference is very noticeable.

Yes that hope is gone! haha. Hey, when quarantine is over, I'lll be back in LA. If I decide to order that second pair of 110s, add your order to mine and we save on shipping!
