My email is still unanswered and the two customer service numbers I have are both saying this number is no longer in service. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say they went under....

What do people do with a warranty still intact on their products?

That's a bummer, but I think it should be been assumed it was coming. With the massive sales they did on Woot over the last two years some sort of major change was coming.

This news article was pretty interesting.

Not much activity on this board, but I hope someone can help me.

A few years ago I purchased a new Pinnacle SUBcompact 8 for my den set-up. I loved the build quality and performance. I tried it in my HT setup in place of a larger Paradigm sub and it was at least as good. I dismantled the den and sold the SUBcompact 8, which I have regretted since.

The other day I saw a used one online and bought it. Supposedly only used for a few weeks in a model home. It arrived today and it is not the same as my old one. The box says Pinnacle SUBcompact 8, but these are the differences:

- Back of speaker does not say made in USA
- There are no cooling fins on the back of the plate amplifier
- Single input instead of dual
- No high level speaker inputs or outputs
- No power switch - pretty sure mine had this.
- Port on the bottom - mine was a sealed box and had no feet. This one has feet due to the port.

The speaker looks in new condition and powers on when plugged in. I haven't hooked it up yet. There is no serial number on the unit.

Is this a fake SUBcompact 8 or has design changed? There is enough difference, I would think this would cause a model change, even if to a "II" designation.

Anyone interested in a Pinnacle Classic Gold Center? http://www.pinnaclespeakers.com/cgcenter.html

I lost a bid for a pair of Pinnacle Erogel classic gold towers to match with my center for another room, but now i doubt i'll ever get another chance so maybe someone out there has the classic gold towers and they want a matching center channel.

The Decibel 98's are great speakers, at least for their time, quite efficient .. carefully make sure they are fully functional .. my Gold's are still doing quite well after many years .. if I had seen a pair in good shape and fully functional for $140, I would have bought immediately ..

If they are in good shape, the surrounds don't need replacing, and the port tube are still securely in place; then it's probably a fair price. But I'd try to see how low they will go or if there is some sort of promo the store runs that you can apply.

They are much older than what I'm familiar with, but also from a time before they just rebranded random chi-fi.

Hi folks,
I have a pair of Pinnacle P6.2 speakers, that I want to sell. I bought them used. I'm trying to figure out an asking price, and haven't been able to find sold items on the Web, or the original MSRP. Can anybody tell me what the original MSRP was, or give any opinion on what I should sell these for. They are in very good cosmetic condition, and sound great. Any info appreciated.

The Wayback Machine revealed a MSRP of $599 for a pair of P6.2 speakers in 2004 but they could be bought at a dealer for $499 a pair. I have no clue as to current value.

Thanks for the response and taking the time. Could you possibly identify a site or Web page within the Wayback archive that is the source of the info. Thanks, Richard

The Wayback links are:

https://web.archive.org/web/20040606...rs.com/p62.htm
https://web.archive.org/web/20040408...124306&loc=111

Hope these help. The first page has the specs and a working link to a PDF of the owners manual.

Awesome! Just what I needed. Sorry it took so long to say thanks. Does the Wayback require a paid subscription? It's unclear to me.

The Wayback machine is free to use. I think they may ask you to register for a free account, not sure though. They do solicit donations however. It is part of the larger Internet Archive project which is run by a not for profit organization. See www.archive.org for details. For some things it is more useful than Google.

Great, I was very impressed that you found the info I was seeking. I'm often looking for info on older equipment, sometimes pretty obscure stuff, and I bet it will come in handy.
