I'm currently let them slowly warm up to room temperature before testing them out, as it is -15C / 5F here and the aluminum bodies were very cold on arrival. I'm very impressed with the build quality, it's much better than I expected. They are beautiful.

As an update, I did contact GoldenEar about rotating the tweeters and they responded:

"Typically the tweeter is glued in place so rotating would probably be an issue - plus the grilles are different too. You are correct though, they should be rotated to use the speaker horizontally. Also, it is really best that the front L/R speakers be as far apart as possible, preferably as far apart as the distance to your listening area."

So I think I will just set them up conventionally. I'm going to use Martin Logan LX16's for the surrounds in a 5.1 setup with my old AV123 X-Sub.

What receiver will you be using?

I'll be using my trusty old Marantz SR5001, which I have been using for years to power 4ohm Onix Reference series fronts. I'm sure it will do well! Not worrying about getting the latest gadgets for this room. It does have earlyish HDMI. I have a wall mounted Vizio M70 as the TV.

Per Facebook, the SuperCenter Reference center speaker will start shipping in February. MSRP?

Also, does anyone know of any dealers in the New Jersey area that have the Triton One.R on display for demo yet? I called all the dealers on the Goldenear website in the past two weeks, and no one had any in yet. Could really use some more listening impressions, I'd be coming from a Triton 5 and an XXL.

I disassembled my GE (another model) and the glue they use inside looks like hot glue or clear silicone. I would try to rotate the twitter.

I just found it on a website of a dealer in the U.S. It is very reasonably priced - not that much more than the SuperCenter XXL. Availability appears to be very soon. I just upgraded from the Triton Ones not that long ago, and finally I'll have a center which is more closely matched to the TRefs.

@mbroadus Can you give me some feedback or a review on the supersats you currently have?

I am waiting to go hear the 50s and the 60s at an audio shop up north here in Austin. (I noticed the Horns Helmet- Hookem)

I have not been able to find alot of reviews on them so was hoping you could give me your thoughts.

Corey, What are the most improved areas of performance you note from upgrading from T1s to TRefs?

The 50's sound great, typical highs and ultra detailed soundstage for the tweeter but not bright with the grilles on, good bass extension for the size. Sound good crossed over at 100 or 120hz, slightly better at 120 to my ears. Incredibly solid construction (aluminum).

I’ve had my SuperSat 50s for 4 years, sold them last week. They’re solid for movies with a good sub and even better with good room correction software. I really like the ribbon tweeter and would definitely buy again if I were looking for an on-wall speaker. Are you going to A&B?

Here’s a good review - https://hometheaterhifi.com/reviews/...peaker-system/

@mbroadus Yes, Jeffrey at A&B is setting the 50/60 up for me to demo.

I have been a Def Tech guy forever but no one has the mythos line to actually listen to. Jeffrey discussed goldenear with me and Im going to give them a shot.

I have a sub and 2 powered 7004s which will be moved to my rears so I have the low end covered.

The room is a 10x10 bedroom Im making into a media room/mancave. I want to use on-walls to save space in the room.

So it boils down to which sound better to me I guess. Not sure which way Ill go but currenlty Im thinking 50s for the L&R and 60 for the center.

Might pay the extra cash for left and right 60s depending on how the 50s do.

They’re perfect for bedrooms. I loved the 50s but wish I would have bought the 60s.

Harlan, the sales manager at A&B is a good friend of mine. I’m about to buy a GoldenEar sub from him and have it shipped up here.

@mbroadus what size room did you have your 50s setup in?

I had a buddy recommend Jeffrey to me and couldnt say enough nice things.

Small world, and Im glad to hear you are happy with them too.

I of course want to go all 60s for my front three but its a jump cost wise for the left and right from 50 to 60.

The ears shall decide.

They were placed in a small den area of a larger open room and I sat 12ft away from them. Yes, I chose the 50 because they less expensive and I couldn’t have been happier. As an FYI, they’re not very good with music.

Does anyone have any current information regarding the Digital Activ3 speaker? I had thought we’d have had availability sometime last year, but as far as I can determine, it’s still not available.

Just wanted to pop in here and give major props to Mike (mmiles) who was my dealer for GE Invisa HTR 7000s as I was limited to an in ceiling arrangement. I was hesitant about using only in-ceiling speakers but Mike helped me with selection and placement and the resulting sound is insane! Paired with my SVS PB3000 it feels like I am in a movie theater. You can't tell the speakers are in the ceiling and in some regards actually adds to the soundstage

If anyone is in the market, don't hesitate to shoot Mike a PM and chat with him about your unique set up

On the GE website in the shopping area the new center channel looks cosmetically and structurally like the XXL. I think it’s just newer technology because the drivers are all the same number and size but I think the tweeter maybe larger. I’ve upgraded a lot of different GE Speakers but may sit this one out unless I’m just blown away with them side by side. From a cosmetic stand point they don’t have any similarities to my T Refs

Hi, Yes, the new SuperCenter Reference does look externally like the XXL. However it has much of the technology developed for the T Ref and Triton One.R: Reference tweeter, new drivers with FocussedField magnet structures, new crossover specifically voiced like the T Ref and Triton One.R, new wiring, etc. Have a look at the hometheaterreview.com review of the Triton One.R as the reviewer goes into the sonic improvements of the center channel in some detail. All the Best, Sandy

Will their be a Goldenear Triton five.R ?
Would seem to be a similar upgrade path as the SuperCenter XXL.

Already have SVS subwoofers.
