Try Rockville bookshelf speaker stands. Good quality for the money.

Were you by chance using a 520 before the 530? I have 590's for LR but I am moving to a larger space and I'm concerned about my 520 keeping up. Anyone else using a 530 a center?

You can still buy 520c center and 590 LR.
yeah pretty crappy people here buying several pairs like they did.

Can you blame them? I mean if people are buying them just to sit on them for resale then that is akin to people buying 5 iPhones just to resell on EBay or something. But I think most are going to put them into their systems immediately. Others just have plenty of money to spend. And you have to remember they haven’t made them in years so there are years of pent up demand. I thought about buying 2 more pair for Atmos but I already made my bed with that. I bought mine to complete the Studio 5 series 7.1 setup.

HT 7.1.4: Sony X940E, Marantz SR8012, LR: JBL Studio 580's, C: JBL Studio 520c, Surrounds and Rears: JBL Studio 530's, ATMOS: JBL Studio 210's, Sub: HSU VTF-3 mk5
MB 5.1: Sony 55" X950G, Denon X3500H, LR/Surrounds: JBL Studio 270’s, C: JBL Studio 235c, Sub: HSU VTF-2 mk5
Living Room/Office 5.1: Sony 49" 900E's, HTNT5's with wireless rear channels

Well I just pulled the trigger and purchased 3 590s. I saw in another thread someone said they called in and were able to get an additional discount so I called and they gave me another 20% off! So $399 out the door each seems like a steal. I will figure out surrounds later. My house is still being framed so I have a good 4-5 months before the theater will be ready anyway.

I was the one that posted it but usually they give 20pct on one and 10pct on the remaining. So effectively it worked out to 15 pct on average. Did they give you 20pct on each?

They did. It took forever as the agent entered it as 3 different orders. But I got 20% off all 3. Thanks for the tip! Never would have thought of calling or asking for a discount.

Any idea why JBL stopped offering the Studio 5's in cherry? I'd love to get my hands on a cherry 520c (the black one is butt ugly IMO).

This is the reason I have not upgraded to the 590. I have 580's and a pair of 560P's in cherry

I have 590's L/R, 520 C, and I am moving into a larger room and plan on doing 7.2.4. Any advice on in ceiling speakers that will blend nicely with the front end of my system?

I think I read that the Cherry finish was a UK or Europe exclusive, or at least more widely available there.

The only crappy thing is if people bought 3+ pairs with the expectation to try to mark them up and sell them.
People buying 2-3 sets to round out their home theater or bring speakers into another room? I got no problem with that.

Honestly there will always be people who buy things for profit, thats how the world works. As for these speakers specifically the biggest reason they sold out so fast is 2 fold

1) they havnt been in stock in over 2 years
2) They sold alot of JBL towers 590's 580's 570's and Centers 520'c and people were looking to finish their setup.

As for me I had an alert on slickdeals for the longest time for studio 530's and as soon as I saw them I decided to grabbed a pair, but then I saw a $50 off coupon from JBL if you spend $550 so I said what the hell and bought two for $550 instead of $600 making them $275 each. At that price I could finish my setup. Right now I have 4 JBL 590's and two of them were used in the rear. These two sets will replace the rear 590's and add to as heights that way i'll have a 7.1 setup. I'll probably just sell my other two 590 towers as I have no use for them, or move them into my bedroom.

As a side note for anyone who missed out, these were manufactured in march of 2019 which means they are NEW STOCK so they will be getting more again! (Hopefully not to long for those still waiting) I just dont see them popping back up for $300 a pair though. My best suggestion is to setup a slickdeals alert for them and keep an eye out in the future. All I can say is that im finally satisfied that my setup is finally finished! I really didnt want to mix the 2 series with this setup and held out for years hoping for some 530's and I was shocked when I saw them. I literally ordered within 2mins of getting that notification.

Got mine today. Can’t set them up myself as I had very invasive surgery this morning. Hopefully Sunday a friend will come through and help me out. After a full day of extreme pain they were a very welcomed sight. Anxious now to get them setup and finally pull off all the grills and put the horn covers on. Then light the mafks off with a reef CE disc. Extremely grateful to the forum and member who posted the alert. I’ve wanted a decent HT for 20 years and we all know much this stuff costs. For me it literally is a dream come true.
