Holy Cow....So glad I purchased the MTM-210

I am in shock on how deep and clear the tones are that come out of these speakers. I was skeptical and thought my Def Tech 8080s where pretty good speakers. Not Even Close. I cranked up some instrumental soundtracks from Hans Zimmer and the deep clear long tones were incredible.

I now need to get the surrounds to go with these incredible speakers.

Glad to hear another user enamored with their sound! Play them long and loud.

Once you have an awesome PSA front stage, the surround speakers really bring it all together. I can't recall the first bunch of movies I watched when I finished my PSA speaker setup; but the detail was quite astonishing, as if a portion of my hearing came alive for the first time, breathing new life into old movies.

It's been a while, but thanks again Tom for hooking me up with a great price on the first three non-radius speakers...got me started down the path of most excellent audio.

Speakers: PSA MTM-210T x2, MTM-210C, MT-110SR x2; Atmos-SVS Satellite x2, DIY Volt-10 x2
Subs: PSA V1801 x2, DIY: 18" RSS460HO, 15" RSS390HO x2, BOSS w/JBL CX1200 x6
MA’s: Crowson Tech x2
Processing: Denon X4200, NU6KDSP, 3KDSP
Video: Epson 3700; Screen: Silver Ticket 106" High Contrast

^^ Agreed. Last night I watched Tron and I was amazed equally with both the bass coming from my subs and the over all sound track coming from my PSA speakers. The music and effects coming from the front stage as well as the surrounds was totally enveloping. I remember on multiple occasions the scenes were so enveloping, dynamic and absolutely incredible that I felt like I was in the movie itself. That my friends is a priceless experience.

Once you hear them doing serious work I predict you will start planning how you will get them.

Already planning, just finding roadblocks called "I'm poor". No really the only reason I can't right now is because I just spent time and money buying my current Def Tech system which believe it or not sounds incredible. I have no doubt PSA is better, no doubt at all but it's hard to go out and replace brand new speakers that you just spent money on. You see where I'm coming from right? It becomes a little crazy at some point.

Precisely the issue I had. Hope to sell the def techs soon

It is hard to decide when you really can't demo the speakers without forking out the dough.

I spent a year researching speakers, reading forums and reading reviews. I first heard about PSA via Zeos on reditt, Specifically looking for a subwoofer. I noticed a company I had never heard before that he recommended (PSA).

https://www.reddit.com/r/audiophile/...0_s1500_v1500/

I am converted. I just want to sit and listen to them all day.

I understand completely. When I bought my PSA speakers last year they replaced a one year old set of top of the line large bookshelves that were the best sounding speakers I had heard up to that point. Def Tech is good stuff! This hobby tempts us to do the impractical.

Wow my head is spinning, someone said something nice about Def Tech. They sound awesome to be honest and I'm being critical. I'm looking for flaws.
To the guy that asked what we are gonna be listening to as reference material, I only have a bunch of 5.1 music on my list that I'm bringing. The movies are up to my new buddy. I can't wait to hear the PSA speakers though, can't wait.

You should try and take your Def Techs with you to compare.

Ascend Sierra 2's (LCR & side surrounds) + Pioneer atmos modules. 5.1.4 setup
Marantz AV7703
Rythmik FV15HP
JVC DLA-X590R (RS 440) projector
Stewart StudioTek 130 screen

Yeah that would be nice, but lugging around heavy speakers is not ideal. Also don't get me wrong I am pretty sure PSA speakers are better, but these Def Techs are no slouch, that's all I'm saying. They aren't bipolar, with built in subs. They are just really, really good bookshelf or studio monitor speakers.

Yes, I have SM 65 LCR and SM 55 surrounds. It's pretty potent even though it's the big box selling Def Tech. Also have a non center channel is probably something I will do going forward. I really love it. SM 65 standing upright the way it was designed to be

Nothing beats three identical vertical speakers in a LCR configuration, I had the MTM 210s that way and the front stage was intense, dialog was spot on even several feet off axis as was imaging. Being able to rotate the CD/WG makes for a good horizontal center as well..........

Yeah to be quite honest I don't think I'll ever again stray from the exact same speaker for LCR again, no matter how good the center channel is that a particular speaker manufacturer makes. This is the way HT was intended I think. Center channels are nothing but a compromise. Hope I didn't come off as a jerk right there, just an opinion.

Nope, you didn't come off as a jerk. The nice thing about the PSA 210 and 210c is they are the exact same speaker, the only difference is the rotation of the waveguide. Remove four screws, rotate the wave guide 90 degrees, replace the screws and the 210c becomes the 210. Perfect if room set up ever changes and you need to change the orientation of the center channel.

Perfect if room set up ever changes and you need to change the orientation of the center channel.
Yes exactly. That is something I noticed about PSA from the start. The same drivers just in different cabinets. Two woofers, one woofer, in a small cabinet, medium cabinet, tall cabinet, tweeter rotated. That's very cool about PSA
