I will try the flat setting next. I am not familiar enough with my avr to tweak it that much but maybe I should start trying. I think my biggest problem is the bass.
I know that is not on the 210t's. My entry level yahmaha doesn't correct the bass. I probably need something external to do that. I am thinking of trying a denon or marantz next go around just for bass correction.

I've had quite a few Yamaha receivers and been a fan for a very long time till recently. Anyway, flat is the best way to run YPAO. The "natural" setting cuts off the highs or something like that. All I know is after rerunning YPAO in flat the difference quite incredible. Made my Def Techs really come alive and sound much better.

some of his reviews are good, but sometimes he makes me wonder if he knows what he's actually talking about (speaker efficiency, how ported subs work, some other things he's said and i do a double take like, wait what?). that notwithstanding, i enjoyed his review of the psa mtm 110's.

i did get a really good chuckle when he said PSA doesn't stand for power sound audio. it stands for the power to summon the authorities.

2nd Impression

Dynamic!
I now know what that means. My wife is a fan of the original Jumanji movie so we got the new 4k version. Started watching last night with the kids at moderate levels and multiple times I jumped at scenes. Buzzing mosquitoes seemingly coming from no where, stampeding animals, and general craziness go on throughout that movie. These bad boys get loud in a hurry. Don't remember having those type moments with my other speakers. The other thing that amazes me is the fact that while evaluating these I have my center and surrounds turned off but I can hardly tell. I notice the surrounds missing some but not the center. The two towers alone sound better than my previous LCR.

I agree. When he finally talked about DIY, and bought a UM15 kit, I thought it was funny. He didn't glue on the recessed baffle (the outer baffle with the round overs). He used screws right around the edge of the sub, which caused the corners to pop up. He said he would tack those down, but was like man...you just glued up the entire cabinet and then decide to use screws for the face of the sub? Come on man... The way he talked about it was funny as well. Overall he did show how easy it was because he did this all in his apartment.

Nice room, are they going behind the screen?

No center speaker then?

You might be able to get away with a false wall or even less in that room. I have my speakers against the wall and hung a screen in front of them. Then used velvet to cover the rest. That would get you a bigger screen too.

i've never used a center channel all of these years, but i am planning to fix that. i'm pretty sure i can slide one in under the screen as it. but yes, one day i'd prefer to create a faux wall and put all of the equipment behind an acoustic transparent screen. one project at a time haha.

Looks like you have plenty of room for a center. just make sure you angle it up towards the listening position.

i'd just frame out a new wall a foot or so away from the existing one and stick the equipment behind it. wouldn't be that hard at all. just have a bunch of other projects lined up in front of it already.

i'm speechless right now. these speakers are incredible. i'm still learning how to use this new denon x4300h receiver but after much fiddling and listening to some go-to tracks, i can't believe how effortless these speakers are. for reference, my father has a pair of paradigm signature s8's that cost many multiple times what these do back when he bought them 10+ years ago so i'm not a stranger to great sounding speakers. this is surreal how good these speakers sound! they are so accurate & clear, and damn do they crank!
between these new speakers & my new rythmik subs i'm in AV heaven bliss right now

i'll go on the record and say that i definitely had my reservations ordering speakers sight-unheard, but damn! i am blown away right now. i will definitely be ordering a center channel in the very short future, and surrounds all around down the line. these speakers are phenomenal.

i should have purchased these sooner.

Yeah they're incredible no doubt about it. And the best part about them is even after 18 months you will still be just as amazed by them as you are today. I still sit back and smile every time I hear my setup.

now to grab the center & matching surrounds. i didn't want to order everything at once in case i didn't like the sound, i didn't want to have to ship back so much stuff. glad that isn't the case!

Wait till you see what the surrounds do with imaging and the way they make effects sound. I've gotten up to answer a knock on the door... but I didn't have a door there, it was knock coming from the right 110SR. It sounded so real I got up to answer it.

X2. I turned the subs off yesterday and listened to my 210T's for a half hour or so in 2ch with music. I thought to myself that these might be my best audio purchase ever...this is 2yrs later. By far the best speaker for the money out there imo.

If I bought the 210t for l/r would you use the Center for the center channel or another 210t for Center channel. I have 120” AT screen by using the 210t for Center will give me the correct height for the speakers vs making a stand for the 210c. Also if I try a 110 just to see if I like these speakers will they sound like the 210t less the bass. I have the bass covered with a svs sb-16 and I plan on ordering another in a few months.

I think it could work but verify with Tom. The 110 will sound very similar. Just have a little less midbass. But tonal quality is the same.

I would not call them bright in the harsh sense. These speakers have a great soundstage and sound extremely clear and crisp. You will hear things that you had not heard before. I have never listened to content this loud before without any sort of ear fatigue. Just need some nice subs and they will sound stellar.
