my father had a listen to the 210t's tonight. we demo'd a range of material from enya, moby, phil collins, hans zimmer, lorde, carly rae jepsen, nine inch nails, and a handful of movies including tron, passengers, and some others that i can't remember. he has a very sweet setup that i've mentioned elsewhere and he was really digging these speakers. he said that he can't believe they sound as good as they do using a horn tweeter & 10" drivers.

i LOVE the way these speakers sound. i think he was taken aback a bit hearing them knowing what they're made of and what i paid for them. best damn purchase in a long time.

*edit* - i just remembered. the other movie we watched bits & pieces of was dunkirk. i put on one of the numerous air battle scenes and the speakers were already cranked up pretty loud, and my father jumped when an explosion went off. the dynamic range that these speakers have is incredible.

Ugh I really need to find someone in California who has these speakers. I've gotten close to ordering but I don't feel right ordering with the chance I "might" not keep them.

i was you. i just said the hell with it and rolled the dice, and i don't regret it for a moment! there is a 60 day in home trial, so you're only out the shipping cost if you really don't like them (which is probably very unlikely). i mean it is rather strange to buy an audio device without hearing it, but at the same time the speakers are affordable because they're from an internet direct site and not marked up like crazy from some retailer. i have zero regrets right now, NONE.

for what it's worth, i've heard svs ultras, klipsch reference, b&w's, low & high end paradigm (studio 100's & signature s8's), polk, jbl, martin logans, and now finally these psa's. i'm seriously just blown away by how good they sound. if you're ever in upstate ny and want a listen hit me up :P

The ideal set-up would be 3 x MTM-210Ts left right and center. The MTM-210C is identified as center because the wave guide is rotated 90 degrees because the speaker is placed horizontally. There may be some lobing when listening off axis with an MTM design when placed horizontally. The best orientation for MTM is vertical.

The MT-110 is close enough to the MTM-210T for decision making purposes. You can move them to surround duty after you get the towers.

Also if I try a 110 just to see if I like these speakers will they sound like the 210t less the bass. I have the bass covered with a svs sb-16 and I plan on ordering another in a few months.

I can do 3 across the front no problem, do you know of anybody doing that now? Also what crossover do most people do with these speakers, I am guessing 80 hz.

nope just l/r at the moment. i plan on getting a 210 center but if i had an acoustic screen and went with a 3rd 210t it would still be crossed over the same. the speakers roll off hard at 60hz.

Okay that is what threw me because the 210c says 70hz.
Do you also plan on changing your other speakers out, the reason I ask for my sides and rears Jbl has a speaker you can get for around $315 and they have used this speaker with their $20,000.00 M2 speakers in their demo rooms. A lot of people with the big Jbl speakers also use them. Jbl scs8.
Thanks

i just upgraded to the psa's from an ancient pair of jbl's (l100t3). my current surrounds are a joke. i bought them to have something--kind of a place holder if you will. so yes, i plan on replacing them with psa's down the road.

Most here are using Denon or Yamaha. Can’t go wrong with either. I have mine crossed at 80hz. Have been listening to them at 100hz and they sound fantastic

I also have an AT screen and just purchased 3 210T's for the L/C/R, from everything I have always read you want the front sound stage to be as identical as possible.

Not sure about what matches well but I use the Marantz, which for me does the best when balancing music and movies. For me the Yamaha was best for music but not so much with movies.

I've got the flu, not fun. Last weekend I picked up the X-Box X and hooked it up. Went with the Xbox X because it has the 4K Blu Ray player, anyhow......

Last night I threw in "Guardians of the Galaxy" to keep myself entertained, about half way through the movie Mrs. Nimrod came into the room "Ohhhh.... We've seen this... Can we..."

My response was "give it 5 minutes". An hour later, at the end of the movie, Mrs. Nimrod (whom could care less about TV/Speakers) was so excited "the picture, the sound, its so immersive!"

PSA delivers unlike any other speakers I've had for sure!

If you can fit it, having the same speaker for LCR would be preferable. I would go 3 210T’s if you have an AT screen.

I am not familiar with the whole JBL line of speakers. I replaced my JBL L880 and L890 speakers with PSA. The clarity of the PSA speakers is superior. The first thing I noticed was guitar strings sound like guitar strings. I wasn't listening for anything in particular, the clarity just jumped out at me. I switched to multi channel stereo so the same signal went to the JBLs and the PSAs and the PSAs clearly sounded better to my ears.

It is best to match all speakers. IMO this is most important in a 5.1 set-up. 7.1 and up you have a little more leeway to mix and match.

after i recoup some funds, i'd like to add a 210c & 110sr's around my room. however, what are people using for atmos that have these speakers? i picked up some relatively inexpensive dayton audio 6.5" ceiling speakers that i'm going to try but i have a feeling they won't keep up with the psa's :P

I have volt 6's as my surrounds and atmos/heights. They blend seamlessly with the PSA's and keep up no problemo.

That’s what I wanted to know, the jbl scs 8 are like the volts a compression style driver, and people use them with high sensitive speakers. The cost for the scs 8 are around $315 and they come with a bracket to mount on the wall or ceiling. Their is also a Jbl 328c has the same driver as the scs 8 or very similar driver that can be mounted in the ceiling.

Thanks for all of the information on the PSQ speakers. I am torn between them and some jtr speakers.

i was actually considering the sierra towers with raal tweeters too. however, i like my movies loud & dynamic and the thought of having to replace a nuked $700 ribbon tweeter killed the deal for me. i think these psa speakers sound incredible with both movies & music.

Yep that was me, the Ascends with the RAAL tweeters were amazing for music some of the best I have heard but when it came to movies just didn't do it for me. I have also tried Goldenear Tritons and have since discovered that for me when it comes to movies a ribbon tweeter is not the way to go.
This will be my first experience with a horn driven speaker so really excited to hear them, but after talking to Tom V. it's gonna be a few weeks they are out of stock on the woofers.

They are awesome for music but for not when it came to movies.

So does anyone else have a very hard time hitting the sweet spot when going to 2 channel stereo. I'm using Mt 210's and I literally have it dialed in that if I move my head to 1 foot in either direction I lose the effect of have the center channel on.

i think the next thing you need to upgrade is your display. you could easily fit something much larger on that wall.
