I am not sure about speaker damage. The original release of Metallica's Death Magnetic sounds like crap from hideous brick-walling/source clipping, but I don't think the source clipping was blowing speakers.

At the same time, I just don't see the upside of letting a movie soundtrack clip at the source like that.

Holy cow a CD? I have that CD but CDs really never sound good so I don't really listen to them closely enough to care about quality.

"CDs really never sound good"??

Compared to what?

CDs should sound better than any other source AKAIK....well, unless you subscribe to the "hi-res" audio theory.

Compared to 5.1 music from many different sources.

Ahhh...now I get you.

As well as BR concert discs, I also really enjoy multi-channel music from SACD, DVD-A and BRs...the Dark Side of the Moon (SACD/5.1) being my go-to.

Audessey Weirdness?

I know on my current center channel I had to raise the volume on "dialogue adjustment" on my Marantz. Was hoping with the 210T that would no longer necessary.

Thanks
My issue is most likely with Audessey. I need to go back and read the best process of running it. Also, my rear speakers are in a horrible position and maybe that affected things? After I get my MT-110SR pair next week, I'll get them mounted better and re-run Audessey.

Yes, very sad that 5.1 music did not catch on. People like MP3 convenience even though it sounds like crap.

Yeah my Eagles Bluray has DTS-HD 5.1 soundtrack but I 100% prefer the 2 channel stereo track.

It can be very dependent on the mix...some are definitely better than others.

I guess there's a reason I haven't bought any CDs in a long time, I've been doing some research into the present state of audio reproduction these days and I'm appalled at what's going on. I can see why people pirate music these days, they either love the album so much and end up buying the original or hate it and buy nothing.......

I have to update my hard copy music library, everything is original on CD and vinyl, I need some suggestions Alan for good multi-channel and stereo recordings in any format, SACD (I have none) but I do have a player (203), LP or CD.........Thanks...

This tells the story in less than two minutes.......

What happened to controlling the volume to your preference, no more quiet passages or room to breath in between....

Good read and informative, hopefully it will get better.

Yup, the Loudness Wars have really not been good for people who appreciate dynamics in their music.

If you are looking to get into multi-channel music, there's a whole section of AVS dedicated to just that.

I was ready to order but then a guy on a Facebook just threw out that I should take a look at PSA before I ordered the Tektons.
I had read through the forums for the Tektons and it was full of alot of misinformation and BS but after reading the posts for the PSA I didn't see all that negativity.
So after reading a few reviews of the MTM's and have never used a "horn" loaded speaker before I decided to give them a try instead.
I also really like the fact that the company really only puts their build efforts into 3 different speakers other than the subs, where as Tekton has so many crazy ones to choose from with prices that are out of most peoples range.
Who knows I may hate the "horn" sound and then give the Tektons a try but from talking to so many others I think I might finally get the sound I have been wanting.

Congrats! Yet to see someone disappointed with these speakers. That is one of the reasons why you rarely see them in the outlet. Once in a while you will see the MT 110s come around which is when folks a upgrading from the 110s to MTM 210s or 210Ts. If you are mostly movies, it would hard to find better speakers around this price range. But lets see what you think...

Subwoofers: Dual Rythmik FV18s Rev2 with Paper cone, BOSS Platform mini riser, 2 BK LFE
Speakers: PSA MTM-210 L/C/R - Klipsch 250S Surrounds, PSA MT 110sr Rear Surrounds, 4 x SVS Prime Elevation for Atmos
Video: Epson PowerLite Home Cinema 6500 UB; Room: 2100 cuft sealed on suspended floor
Receiver & Players: Denon X4400H, Oppo UDP-203, Roku Ultra. Apple TV, Minidsp 2X4 HD

I am mostly movies and my current XTZ Cinema M6's are perfect for that but when I want to listen to music, while they still have an amazing sound there just isn't enough of it, I can't get the volume I want without it distorting the sound or hurting my ears.

You will be very pleased. That is one thing I found about them is that I have never listened to content as loud, there is no ear fatigue or harshness. The dynamics and soundstage of these speakers is awesome. They will go as loud as you would like without breaking a sweat.

They won't make your ears bleed, but they may give them another feeling that I would love to describe to you with the right word but since AVS told me they are looking for a permanent reason to remove me from this forum I shalt not go there!

But your ears will "love" them!

Good to know, should be delivered here today.
And yeah they get a bit touchy with the banning.. I wanted to change my username and didn't see how so just made a new account and got banned for that.

I think you will love them. I've been upgrading speakers my entire life and these are the first speakers that ever made me think "I'm done". I've had them since Jan 2015 and that feeling has not changed. It's still exciting to fire them up. It'll be fun to hear your thoughts.

I know what you mean about "upgrading"

1st Polk ATI
2nd Paradigm Studio 100's - Found out $ doesn't mean great sound, the center channel was horrible. Lots of volume no detail
3rd Golden Ear Triton 2's - Amazing for music but not HT and they need a stand alone sub.
4th Axiom Audio
5th Aperion Audio Verus Grands - Great speaker couldn't handle the volume
6th Golden Ear Triton 5's - Finally got a stand lone sub but still not what I wanted for movies
7th Ascend Acoustic w/RAAL tweeter - Amazing for music but decided the ribbon tweeter didn't give me the sound I wanted for movies
8th XTZ Cinema Series M6's L/C/R - These have been the best speakers I have used for movies and does a good job with music, but they can't handle the volume when you want to crank the music.
9th and hopefully LAST - PSA MTM-210T's L/C/R

@rustolemite

I just noticed where you are from. Drove through there on the way to New Orleans a few years ago. Beutiful area! Shreveport was also really nice. Actually saw a bad wreck just outside of your town and I was the first one on the scene. The girl was OK, but I got to stand in one of your famous pouring rain storms (and I do mean pouring) for a good while waiting for the pros to get there. LA is a pretty neat place, the people there were awesome.

Enjoy your toys tonight!

I lowered the clipping volume on the left, right and LFE channels and the edited version sounds pretty good, if I don't say so myself!
