Some acoustic panels may do the trick. Place them right after the speaker and one in rear.

It won't be ideal but nothing ever is in this hobby... I think you can make it work. Think of it like this, if these are the speakers he likes then he probably would be underwhelmed by something else anyway.

Well I think we will just have to sell his current screen and get a AT screen instead, I have a buddy who made me a stand to hang my AT on so will just do the same.
Thanks for all your input.

Have a question about acoustic panels, my room is 19x19x8 in a perfect square. My 3 210T's are behind the screen and about 3ft from the wall, would there be any benefit to having 3 panels on that wall behind the speakers?

Thanks

You'll get better advice if you post that question in the Audio Theory, Setup and Chat section. There's some guys over there that know a lot about room treatment.

I would vote option 1 and build the volts.

I have 4 Volt 8’s paired with $3k each LCR’s and they work wonderfully. There was one movie where someone said ‘hey ray’ from the left side surround. I answered with a ‘what’s up’? I thought it was my wife yelling down to me from upstairs. I too have heard knocks on a door coming from them and started to get up from my chair. Same with phones ringing.

Im a spender, not a saver. Income tax is a great way to save money without the ability to dip into it throughout the year. For me (and most of America I think) its a good deal. Sure I could have invested it or put it into a savings account and made 3 cents on it, but my method has worked great for me.

My PSA's came from so called "Bad withholdings".

And dont be that guy that hates giving the government money. Without it UPS would not have had roads to deliver your speakers to you.

If I'm understanding correctly, no one is using an MTM behind an AT screen. 3 identical MT110/210s.

I've seen where people are doing that. I remember at one point Brian Fineberg had his PSA speakers behind the AT screen with all three vertical. There have been others as well.

Unless you have a MTM sitting around and don't want to buy a third matching speaker to your L/R, no one with an AT screen is using an MTM. It is the optimal solution and that third L/R speaker will cost less than the matching center/MTM.

i'm far from it. in fact i can't believe that we just passed tax reform that reduced the amount of federal tax that's collected across the board (borrow $100, give $95 to the rich and $5 to the working class--that about sums up the deal we just got). although technically it's only a temporary tax cut for us. i was equally disgusted a few years ago when the obama administration decided to lower the social security payroll tax rate by (2%?) for a few years--that program needs more funding not less. anyway this forum isn't the place for politics, but i just can't get behind arbitrarily having more tax than necessary withheld from each of my paychecks only to ask for it back every year.

I think there is some confusion here. When klimo says "MTM" he means a traditional, horizontal Midrange/Tweeter/Midrange center channel.

And what the hell ever happened to Brain anyways???

I realize I’m a bit late to the party on this one, but the directivity of the PSA 210T waveguide seems an ideal match to a situation like this, imho. The big concern would be reflections off the near wall, but with the relatively tight control the PSA speakers offer I think this would be minimal compared to almost any other design.

In other words, I believe you are doing him a favor by giving him this particular speaker for this application, so I say go for it!

Thanks for the input but I got a workaround just going to go with an AT screen. It's the same setup I have so it will fix this space problem.

Thanks.

Okay you had me worried and checking the PSA webpage again. I've decided to go with 3 x 210's for LCR, 2 x 110sr and a v1500. Where do I pick up my PSA membership card?

That is such a kick butt setup! Jealous!

I cheaped out and didnt go with the 110s for l/c/r. I regret it after getting my 15v and realizing how quality their stuff is.

Not a knock on SVS. I just think PSA is a step above.

When my kids get a little older I'll look at upping my spl and low range possibilities.

I cheaped out and didnt go with the 110s for l/c/r. I regret it after getting my 15v and realizing how quality their stuff is.
