I am truly completely satisfied and happy with my speakers and have no intention of switching to an active front stage. Having said that I know how these things go and I may be persuaded to change my mind once I see what Tom comes out with. But I also know that if Tom says "cost little concern" than those speakers will be expensive... more expensive than I would probably be willing to pay since I'm so happy right now. But on the other hand PSA has a good trade in program that may make the switch more appealing and goodness knows I've taken advantage of it plenty of times to upgrade subwoofers. How's that for waffling back and forth?

I guess I would have to wait and see what he comes out with but I really doubt I would feel a need to switch. I can't imagine being any happier with speakers than I am right now.

Oh yeah, it exists and it makes upgrading very easy. The problem is... it makes upgrading very easy.

The improvements may be more appreciable for music than movies. I think this will be significant for any dual-purpose environment.
Yes, these have the potential to be coherent, transparent and low distortion. Spoke with Tom today. He doesn't have much info yet but they will have some of the best drivers and i am thinking real strong mid bass! Great for my 2 channel system paired with my 7201's!

I will be putting the 215RT's up for sale.

With the S7201s in place, this is one scenario you definitely do not need the full-range JTRs (unless you are hosting an outdoor event!).

I wonder if it will be a 2 or 3 way design? Ice Power? 700+700+300W woofer+woofer/mid+tweeter?

Where are you located? I'd love to hear both the JTR and PSA in your space.

I'd like to see JTR start offering active versions of the Neosis speakers.

Well it isn't about total output. There are various reasons i used the 215's as i had wrote about in the PSA subwoofer thread a little while back.

I am in Pa.. Let me know if you ever make it out this way.

Tom did not get into many specifics. High sensitivity and power along with high end drivers is what i got from our short conversation. Should be more info in a month or two.

Did Tom give any indication of the price range? My guess is $2999 a piece. Maybe more depending on the veneer.

How far are you from Columbus, OH or Washington D.C? We have relatives to visit. I always like to visit my "home theater nerd friends", as my wife says.

Where in Pa?

I may have asked you before. I am in Pittsburgh. If you are 7 hours from Columbus I am guessing you are out in eastern pa.

I have the 215RT’s also and prefer them full range with no subs for 2 channel music. I use 4 S2 subs for movies.

Raynist, I am near Scranton. Sorry, but 2 S7201's are tighter and cleaner in the bass versus 215Rt's. At least in my room.

You also alleviate the main amps from producing low notes and this has the benefit of much cleaner and clear midrange, smoother highs do to lowering of distortion.

Do you use any type of room correction?

Still curious about what you know about the new speakers!

I hear what you are saying about the amp. I power each 215 with a 4kw amp so I have power to spare.

Damn… too far away! @climber07 is it time for new speakers yet?

Over $3k/each? Now I'm really intrigued.

It's your room and placement. The best placement for stereo is rarely if ever the best for bass. Also, 8 18s w/8000Wrms vs 4 15s… there's that.

Exactly Marc! I don't disagree and was gonna add that. Keep in mind I'm typing this stuff from my phone at 430 in the morning.

My mains are positioned to maximize soundstage and imaging. Subs are corner loaded.

Gonna be interesting to see what Tom comes up with. Worse case I keep the 215's and bi-amp. My professional consultant is ready to assist with that when/if I am.
