Link did not work for me. Is there a way to get the 2015 dolby demo disc content?

Thanks

If the link is not working then I am not sure. But if you have the 2014 disc, it is overall better than the 2015. 2015 has some of the same content, and the added content is not worth much. Transformers demo plus a few ambient sound demos that are meant to show Atmos vs 5.1 by alternating them.

That last part you described would be interesting to have.

Listen up, studios! Dolby Atmos Lite™ print-outs must stop!!

Theoretically, but we have no way of knowing how it was mastered or if they really "put their all" into the 5.1. So I think if one were looking at it as a "true" comparison, it may not be real. To sell Atmos at the retail level, though, sure I guess.

There are multiple Atmos downloads here. I don't know what you have to play them on, I use Kodi.

That is very cool. I didnt know that link of demos existing. Thanks.
@ride525 - that is a torrent magnet. You need uTorrent or an equivalent piece of software installed to use that link.

I downloaded some of the demos and they're in .mt2s format. I tried streaming them as mpeg to my blu-ray player. They played for a second and then froze. Any suggestions? maybe convert them to dvd? if so, any recommended conversion software for windows 10?

I downloaded the six "lossless" Atmos files from the demo-world webite and burned them to a DVD.

My blu-ray player (oppo) then played them as data-movie files.

Did you burn them as is? or did you do a conversion?

This is my blu-ray player

Yes, just burned them as is.

Then just played them. My Oppo thought is was a "data disk", and had me select from:
Music
Pictures
Movies,
etc.

I just chose Movies, and they played great.

I got my ps3 to play them as data, but there was no sound at all. There was video but no sound. When I play them on my PC, there's also no sound.

When I played them on my PC, it was the same, no sound. But they played fine on my blu-ray player. It's set to BITSTREAM for Atmos.

Can they make this any more difficult? I'll play with my PS3 settings and see if I can see a bitstream option.

My blu-ray player and obviously the PS3 came out before Atmos. I thought Atmos would be seamless with current blu-ray players. Is that true?

I think most folks' blu-ray players came out before Atmos. Just set the blu-ray player to bitstream. I think that's it.

If you have the old PS3 (fat original) there is no way you'll get it to play Atmos. You'll need a blu-ray player that can Bitstream (the old PS3's don't in HD audio). If you were using a computer you'll need DVD software that can bitstream as well (anything like VLC or built in players can't). Something like PowerDVD will work though.

Yes, this magnet link works with torrent software installed only. So you would need to install something like VUZE or Utorrent and then click on the link to get it to start downloading.

I have a thin PS3. I played unbroken on my panny blu-ray player and Atmos worked fine. I've given up on the demo disc.

Grabbed the files, burned to a BD with ImgBurn and it works perfectly.

I wonder if there will be a new demo disc at CEDIA?

Thx!

Click on the name of a trailer from the list. Then, right-click the thumbnail of the trailer a little bit below the "donate" button. Depending on your browser, you will then click something like "save target as" or "save link as".

Demo playback

Can't we copy the demo to a USB disk and connect it directly to the denon or maybe convert it to a denon friendly format. I also have an old PS3 which from what I've read will not be able to play it. My satellite receiver has USB input and It plays it back but freezes on and off with no sound.

DVDFab HD Decrypter is a free program that can rip Blu-Rays. The best thing to do is just store it in an ISO file without any trans-coding, so as to preserve the BD quality.

I have a HTIB setup (the Sony BDV-7100W to be exact) and gave this disc a spin- even though I knew the receiver couldn't play Atmos -and man....

It sounds AMAZING! What I don't get is what am I playing *exactly* when I put this disc in my Sony? And where can I get some movies that do this as well? It's like my rear speakers were suddenly waking up from a long slumber and started making all kinds of awesome sounds. It's like you're suddenly in a dome of sound, you can no longer pick up where the sound comes from. It's just....around you..... Can someone explain to me in newbie 6-year-old talk how my system is playing this disc at all? Thanks!
