Does anyone know where to get detailed specs on the MB series, specifically the MB-3.5, because all I see is what is on their web site (below). I was discussing my system with my power amp manufacturer and he was specifically looking for the sensitivity rating. Seems to me there should be a bit more detailed information available.

Size: (WxHxD) 178 x 1138 x 286 mm
Weight: 20,8 kg
Freq. response: 30 Hz – 40 kHz
Impedance: > 6 ohm
Crossover: 3.5 kHz 2. order acoustic slope 250 Hz 1.order slope
Enclosure: Curved, heavily braced, ventilated box design with front loaded port and adjustable aluminum feet
Drive units: 1 sealed ribbon tweeter with kapton/aluminum sandwich membrane
2 carbon coned 4,5” bass/mid driver with overhung magnet system
2 Aluminum coned 6,5” bass drivers
Finish: Black-silk or White-silk
Amplification: We recommend high quality amplifiers >50W

Underwood says it's 88db, which I believe from my experience with the MB-2.5s

Interesting. Wally has probably been selling enough of these that he may have made a direct inquiry, because it certainly is not documented by Scansonic.

Thanks!

Personally I don't think there will be any improvements to the XT - C and D series. My gut feeling is they will developing new products based on the experience of the new engineer.

Again only guesses.

Hey Guys - just picked up scansonic MB-1 speakers for my office system. They didn't come with stands and the price of new stands are more than I paid for the speakers. So my questions to you are:

What height are the official stands? - I checked the company site but there was info on the actual height.

What stands are you using instead of those beautiful but expensive stands?

Thanks

DC

DC - Welcome - I don't know the height but would guess about 24-26". One thing very different with both Scansonic and Raidho is that their stands are anything but rigid. That's part of the design for best sound quality. Also remember the MB1's are bottom ported. The MB1 and X1(T) stand finishes the port as far as shaping. Last there are 2 stands. One for the MB1's and one for the X(T)1's. You should have seen my D1 stands Can't recommend the factory stands enough.

Anyhow something to think about. Good Luck

The "official" stands add a little more than 24 inches to the MB-1's with their spikes extended. The stands are not at all rigid, and do not block the loudspeakers' downward firing ports...which increase bass and permit near-wall placement.

There are 7 parts to this. From AVShowrooms. I will say the V2 cables are a huge step up from the originals.

Bummer.... Tyler has almost all MB/Raidho/Ansuz products. The D5.1's though are in crates. Also has the Dyn S40's and Contour 20/30/60's with some of the new Naim gear. Although I woundn't count on demoing those products on the 12th.

I was wrong - the D5.1's are set up with the Aavik Mono blocks.

Tyler's room at Axpona this year was even better than last year. He had the D1.1's again but instead of the mono's he used the U150. How could that sound better? First the mono's are a lot better than the U150 or U300 by far when all else is equal. Tyler even dropped most of the cables down a notch. The difference was the power distribution. Last year the 2 power bars that were used was the Ansuz MainzD8 (only one was needed but 2 is even better). This year he used 2 Mainz D-TC's. What Lars and Tyler were showing was the importance of a good foundation. The foundation being the power going to all your components. The thing is a good foundation will improve any components you have including the speakers. For those who were there last year and thought the bass was good for a single 4 1/2 driver this year the bass was even deeper and tighter. The mids were clearer and the highs more airy. Oh and they played almost twice as loud.

The 2 Mainz D-TC power bars retail for about the retail of 1 mono block. So for anyone thinking a new amp - speakers or source are needed try a Ansuz Mainz D-TC or 2.

Ansuz will be releasing Mainz A2 - C2 and and D2 versions (more affordable than the D-TC) probably by mid next month. Here is a picture of Tyler's room at Axpona
