New poster to this thread but have read a decent portion of it. Does anyone have any experience with Ryan Loudspeakers? I heard the R630 at Axpona a couple of years ago and bought a pair as I thought it was the best thing I've ever heard in the $5000 or less range. Would love to get up to their new S840 but at $8000 that's a bit out of reach. Had them a year-plus, but I seem to be on the un-ending hunt for the perfect speaker.
I've heard the Raidho's (D-Series) several times and been amazed at their sound, however out of my budget. Hence my new interest in the Scansonics, most likely the MB-5. I did hear the MB 2.5 long ago but can't remember them well at all. Just was looking to see if anyone could make any meaningful comparison of the Ryans to the Scans in advance of my visit to Tyler's this weekend. Would be good to have some insight to what I might expect and what to listen for.
For additional info, my room is 22'x18' with speaks on long wall about 8' apart. For now, they need to remain no more than about 1' from the back wall. They are driven by a Peachtree Nova 300 (which is likely to be upgraded to the Nova 500 soon.)
