Martin Logan-need opinion on possible purchase

Have a classic McIntosh 1900 receiver recently removed from storage and prepared for playing (canned air and Deoxit D-5 contact cleaner)

Looking to upgrade Boston CR-67 bookshelfs and XB2 sub. They have very good sound but looking for improved highs and more accurate mid range and more musical base from the sub.

Was thinking about Martin Login Motion LX16 bookshelfs with the small Dynamo 300 sub. They are both being offered at very good prices at both Amazon and Crutchfield. The LX16 appear to be same speaker as Motion 15s but different ascetics. The LX pair are considerably less expensive.

I will use this 2.1 stereo system for mostly classical, jazz, big band and some main stream vocals.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Excellent speakers without a doubt. I'm currently debating between them and some Chane speakers. I'd opt for a better sub though unless it is a very small room.

Thanks mdbrown. The system will be in our sunroom, about 20 x 15 feet.

That's a lot of space for such a small woofer. Of course, you aren't using it for movies but still you might find it somewhat lacking. Don't know what your overall budget is but you might want to explore a bit larger of a sub.

Why in the word did I type ascetics: "different aesthetics" than motion 15. Sorry, perhaps too early having a scotch.

I understand about perhaps too large a space for 8 inch sub. I only plan to play at moderate volume, needing the sub to only add some foundation to the sound produced by the LX16's not to be too overpowering. The Dynamo 300 lists for $295 and is being offered at Amazon for $130 and has the benefit of a small footprint in the sunroom.
