I hadn't seen that before. That gives my DBX PA2 a run for the money. If I understand it correctly, the Minidsp usb streamer ($105) with something like a Behringer ADA 8200 (under $200) would give 8 channels of computer-powered dsp with XLR outputs? Just add a computer. I already use an HTPC.

Ah, that clears it all up. Will the diaphragms be coated with taffy? Might measure well...

I ordered mine 10 weeks ago. They keep giving me a date and pushing it back. They say when they do get them they will send them overnight shipping and they will pay for it. I'm a bit tired of waiting but not too upset, this isn't the longest I've waited for gear.

Gotta love the vast efficiency JBL gained by closing the Northridge, California plant and moving the production to Mexico.

I'm tired of waiting, but it will be worth it in the end.

Sorry to hear about everyone having to wait for their new toys. I must of gotten lucky because when I ordered my CDs last year there really wasn't a wait. I think I got them within a week.

I guess I understood that much, was just including the general basis of questioning...

So whats the difference between lets say the Crown DSi running them active vs. these other options? Or is it two roads to the same house?

@jlpowell84 if you are happy with your speakers I wouldn't take on the added effort, expense, or complexity of going PC based active.

My bet is that AVS significantly increased the sales of the 2453H-SL driver, resulting in JBL Pro scrambling to meet the unexpected demand.

The Speaker Exchange was very upfront with me when I was returning my new 2452H drivers. I am glad to see the demand, perhaps JBL executives will start to value the DIY community as they did until the past decade or so.

I am curious to know more about the streamer and Berry setup now. Thanks guys for spending my money ......

Ya I dont like waiting but it is what it is. I thought this time I wouldnt have to wait but I was wrong. I still have to ship these products to my house after they finally send them. Thats probably another 2 weeks after I finally get them.

That doesn't mean much. I was told they would be in for sure on December 19th after being told they would probably be in by late November/early December. Then I was told January 13th and on and on it goes.

At this point I think there is a very good chance I won't have them for the KC HT Tour in mid February after ordering them the first of November.

That's how JBL does. They'll keep pushing the date back. They'll come in at some point, though.

I almost got myself in trouble from tinkering too much. Connected my 4722s with a few different onkyo and Marantz prepros paired with Crown amps and I was not impressed at all.

Put them back with my time honored Integra 80.3 and Yamaha P7000S and they sound amazing again. Thank goodness many of my ads did not sell. HUGE mistake avoided.

I like where you are going with this. Maybe cut 3 inches off the bottom of my HT seats and make them low riders...same net effect. I better go out and buy some safety goggles before I start this project.

Hope you weren't offended by my remark. I didn't mean to if I did.

Merely making a point that we tend to think about the next speaker or amp to buy when we should concentrate on the room and how we can improve it. I know this is a gear thread though. Ahh. At this point, you have a reference audio system Frolich. What is there to improve? Not much, really.
