Hey guys, can the JBL Sythesis SCL-4 be paired with 4722n? I am currently using Sc-8 for surrounds and surround back and also 4 on ceiling with 4722n as LCR. I don't have much space for surrounds. These JBL Sythesis SCL-4 flash with wall and won't get in the way. Wanted to know if they would be fine with 4722n? Also, does anyone know how much they const?

Audiolense Digital Loudspeaker and Room Correction Software Walkthrough

I hope folks don't mind me posting a link to another site wrt JBL 4722's. I used Audiolense to optimise my 4722's:
- develop a linear phase digital XO for biamping.
- time align the drivers.
- smooth the frequency response using a linear phase target.
- use "room correction" to reduce non-minimum phase low frequency room reflections (i.e. reduce group delay).
- use "partial correction" for constant directivity waveguide equalization, but partial time domain correction.

Really happy with the 4722's - they pound the rock n roll that soothes my soul

Harrisu, have you tried crossing at something like 50 Hz? In my opinion, with the huge headroom all the way down to 50 Hz...it would be worth a try. Crossing them over much higher is to some degree defeating the purpose of having such capable mains. I believe 4722s start rolling off not much below 50, this is mostly about protecting them from those occasional scenes with lots of low content...you have lots of cone area but not a ton of XMax.

Merry Christmas folks,
I have read about 25% of this thread but I'm sure I missed alot too...

Is there a standout choice with the same characteristics as the 4722s but in a smaller package, maybe one 15? I'm pushing it for having room for these as my width is only 12.5' and I am only back around 8'-12' from the screen. I definitely want the midbass slam but don't need that much headroom or physical size.

Was anyone able to figure out the 4722 active settings setup for something we can mimic in a minidsp? I know this post here started playing around with replicating the crown dsi variable q shelf filters but didn't see anything further.

Also what are the active jbl 4722's using for the CD protection?

I have custom 4722n's with the upgraded cd's and 2225h's for the woofers. I currently have a minidsp with mic and two adcom gfa-555ii that I would love to experiment with...

http://cn.jblpro.com/www/products/in...5#.Wk6LDN-nGUk

It uses the same CD and very similar 15" woofer, but the cost is very high. I have the older 6215/95 and it has a really pleasant sound.

My room is 12'9" wide and I'm at 10' from the screen with a trio of 4722s behind an AT screen and it works beautifully. I think part of the 4722s magic is it's large waveguide which allows for a lower crossover. It seems like the PA options with similar parts use a much higher crossover point. If your are open to assembling a speaker there is the DIYSG 3 way Titan which is highly regarded. I believe QSC makes a cinema single 15.

I've come across them before while perusing online. Their prices seem too cheap to be legit. Has anyone had any experience with them?

Not sure what price your looking for but there seem to be two places that most of us on this thread have used for purchasing JBL products. I used Socal and they were great. I will be ordering some more stuff in the future and may just try the other company when the time gets closer. But you cant go wrong with either places that have been mentioned here in this thread.

Yup, Michael at Socalcinetech sold me the 4722's at that price and also sold me the 2453h-SL CD upgrades too. All good.

I bought 3 4722n's from them for 1150 shipped each and the upgraded CD's (can't remember exact price but at the time was the cheapest I could find) and 10 SCS8's at 315 shipped each. Legit and great customer service.

Another satisfied customer here! Recently bought some SL diaphragms at a great price. They did take a couple of months but that's because they were out of stock at JBL.

Long time lurker here....Anyone in the New England area have a set of 4722’s that I can come demo? I have been on the fence for a while now and am just not convinced yet.

Thanks!
