This was an excellent video! First, the kid's name is Evan and he works for John Strohbeen the owner. If you ever talk to Evan you will quickly see that he has the passion and knowledge to be John's protégé. When you talk with John, you quickly hear the voice of experience and knowledge that seems to be lost today. If you read up on John, you will see that he really is one of the great speaker pioneers, the "real deal"!
I was also at the Audio show and I agree, and I told John and Evan that I thought the Ohm speakers sounded as one of the best at the show and that's not because I own them.
My story is that my 2nd wife had a pair of Ohm Walsh 2's from the 1980's and she didn't have an amp to drive them so she was using them as a coat rack as you walked into her apartment. When I saw them for the first time, I said, "Hey I know what these are lol". We got married, bought a house and when my current infinity speakers disintegrated from old age, I called Ohm and like you found out they were in Brooklyn. Since I live so close, I was able to bring my old Walsh 2's for an Walsh 2000 upgrade and worked with John to create a system for my Atmos setup. Now I can tell you that there is nothing like sitting down with John Strohbeen on a hot day in his factory in Brooklyn discussing speakers! It was so much fun that you would think you needed to buy tickets for such an experience!
Anyway, when you think of Atmos sound, you don't think Ohm speakers but I have to tell you that I have one of the best sounding Atmos setups using these speakers that John customized for me.
I think that one of the reasons for marring my wife was because she had a pair of Ohm speakers but either way I highly recommend them!
